Such a beautiful place!
If you hike the full loop from the parking area, following Sentier du Marais counterclockwise, it's about an hour and a half. The first bit, between the parking lot and the first viewpoint, is very steep as you quickly gain elevation, but the hike is very easy after that, so don't let that first bit discourage you.
I noticed some comments saying that getting to the waterfall is too treacherous for kids or people without good hiking legs. I'm not sure if it's because people are assuming the only way to see it is from above or if the way that the waterfall is marked on the park map is at fault, or maybe both. The map makes it look like you must follow the steep path up to see the waterfall, but in reality, there is a far less challenging way to get there. From the parking lot, walk a very short way in until you arrive at a fork with a small sign indicating "Table de pique-nique." Turn left at that fork, and shortly thereafter, you'll find yourself at the bottom of the waterfall (and a picnic table). You won't get to the top of the waterfall this way, of course, but you'll probably want to do all of your Instagram photos from the much more scenic bottom anyway.
Note that the trails are closed during hunting season. The exact dates are posted on a sign at the entrance or can be found on the Denholm municipality's website. This year, the closure is from October 1 to...
Read moreI recommend bringing a good camera because photos donât do justice to how incredible it feels in person. If youâre into mindfulness or meditation, this is the perfect place to just sit, close your eyes, and connect with the moment. We packed a small picnic and enjoyed it by the rocks while listening to the fallsâit was one of the most peaceful lunches Iâve ever had.
Overall, this location is not just a waterfallâitâs an experience. It makes you slow down, breathe, and appreciate the beauty of nature in its rawest form. Definitely worth the visit, whether youâre a hiker, a photographer, or simply someone looking to escape the busyness of life for...
Read moreThe trail is very well marked and maintained. The first part is steep but very doable and enjoyable. After that most of it is effortless. Almost at the end of the âDus Maraisâ trail you can choose to go into âDe La Falaiseâ, this part is very rocky and the terrain is not very friendly, you can opt out if you want. The âDue Ruisseau â, itâs the last part and can be use to get back to the parking lot, it is along the river and beautiful.
Full hike is about 8 km, it took me about an hour. It was great walking with the sound of the water and the birds.
