Really nice place for a tour. We came at a bad time. They were doing school tours, so there was some stuff we were unable to see. The staff was very helpful and they were giving us information on other places to visit in the area.

The trail is nice but everything was locked up, regardless of the fact that the sign on the visitor center said it should be open. We would have liked to actually see the historical sites.

If you are traveling from Saskatoon then take a route via Duck lake to avoid gravel road( ~26km). This place was closed by the time we reached there so couldn't get to see it from inside.

Fort Carlton is a beautiful location there is no doubt about it. However after driving an hour to get there, and with Google listing the historical site as open until after the long weekend in September we were greeted by staff that let us know the site was closed for the season two weeks earlier than normal, and we would be unable to have access to Fort Carlton.

She was very helpful and pointed us toward a public hiking trail we were able to enjoy. However, we are very disappointed that the scheduling staff closed the site weeks early so our family could not enjoy the tour and buildings. There was another family there at the same time as us getting the same bad news. I would imagine the staff will be having that conversation often and taking on the brunt of the scheduling decision.

If the weather was terrible or there was some other circumstance I would understand, but its a beautiful Saskatchewan summer, we should be able to take in the sites in our province for the...

We had a great visit to Fort Carlton today. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The park offers a marked wheelchair accessible parking spot, and easy entry into the visitor center. But, unfortunately, the washrooms in the visitor center are not wheelchair accessible, even though they are clearly marked as being wheelchair accessible. The door to the accessible stall swings inwards, leaving no room for a wheelchair. A very easy fix would be to change the swing...

Awesome well kept place. Loved being able to walk through the fort walls with my leashed dog, you cannot go in buildings with dogs but that's understandable. The 2 girls working were also amazing (I only got one name, Brenda) but both were incredibly friendly and showed me a couple recently found items turned in by tourist. Walking around the fort, walking down to the river, and walking the fort carton trail to the different lookout points was amazing! I will...
