In a word, fabulous. Although the bulk of visitors cycle, walking is a great option, either in/out, or the entire distance. We covered the entire 11.5km in about 3 hours at a moderate pace and had arranged to have someone waiting to pick us up at the end. Doing some pre-visit investigation of the Kettle Valley Railway and Myra Canyon will help you understand more of what you are seeing, but to get a real feel for the massive work done by volunteers to maintain the trail, stop to read the information in the kiosks a couple of kms in from the parking lots (they contain photos of the devastation caused by the 2003 forest fires where 12 of the 18 trestles burned). If you are a Geocacher, there are several caches in the area, but use a GPSr rather than the phone app because cellular coverage is poor.

Just 24 km (about 40 minutes) from downtown Kelowna, the Myra Canyon section of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail is one of the region’s most popular and scenic outdoor experiences. Designated a National Historic Site, this former railway route features 18 wooden trestle bridges, two rock tunnels, and dramatic canyon views, all accessible by foot, bike, or e-bike. Trail & Terrain The gravel path stretches 12 km one way between Myra and Ruth Stations (24 km round trip), with a gentle grade that makes it suitable for most fitness levels and ages. Cyclists typically complete the full ride in 2–3 hours, while hikers can take 3–4 hours at a relaxed pace. Shorter out-and-back options to the first few trestles are great for families and casual visitors.

Its very beautiful place to bike around. They have bench all the way till end. They also have washroom at the end. They have saved old train trestle for us to visiti. You can also take you own bike or walk to that 11 KM one way route. Or you can rent a bike for $40. Half a day trip is more than enough with lots of photos. If you think you can make up all the way thats fine after 7 km there is not much you can turn arround and you wont regret. They have interesting pictures and stories written through out how those bridges were burned down in 2003 and they restored them. Way to rental place is very gravely which is very disappointed me. If you wann make this plCe more popular they should construct a road over there. Overall nice experience.
