Awesome park! It was our first camping experience and it did not let us down at all!

Staff were 100% present and friendly, cleaning the park quite often due to COVID-19. They were accepting card for firewood and ice payments. Only people with reservation could enter the campgrounds (there is a barrier for cars. No barrier or control over people walking inside park, just as a side note).

At first we reserved serviced site 23 but, due to lack of privacy (we were there for the nature) we changed, without ANY issues (thanks staff!) to site 84, which was perfect for us.

Park has a great infrastructure and it is beautifully maintained, with nice trails and beautiful views. I can only note down the water access: only on the opened area of the park and in the middle of the seaweed and on the reserved area, only water accessible if you'd adventure yourself through the cliffs (I guess you cannot go against mother nature...

We were in site 76 with a tent. The sites are really nice; but some lack privacy, so better suited for a camper rather than a tent. We usually prefer a more challenging trail to hike, but this one is well maintained and has some very nice views. Would not be a place I would camp with kids as I think they would get bored without an easily accessible beach, field, and/ or playground by the camping sites. We have been to several provincial parks for camping, and this was the first time we have had to deal with a loud group of campers that were going until 1am easily (and they older adults). I didn't know what proper protocol is, if the CH is supposed to get involved, but that kind of put a damper on an otherwise...

We really enjoyed this smaller park. We were at site 24, with electric and water (no sites have sewer). The park is in a good central location for exploring the south shore. It is a short drive to Peggy's Cove, about an hour to Halifax and about an hour and a half to Kejimkujik National Seaside Park. We started our trip west of the park at Kejimkujik and made our way back, visiting the most picturesque seaside villages along the way, a fabulous day!

Site 24 had one of the best views from the camp fire and from our trailer.

There are well maintained walking paths around the island that are good for an evening stroll.

As a side note, they have the best firewood we've found, a reasonable amount of good hard...

It's a lovely peaceful park. Great host, with wood and ice available at the entrance. Good mini hiking trail. The 'beach'.. is ok... but there are others nearby. We stayed in lot 48, although I would recommend 44. 48 didn't have as much shade and no where to set a hammock up. 44 had plenty of trees and good view. 48 was about a 100 meter walk, and although it's marked as unserviced, you still need to walk in. I would stay here again, but we do want to visit other places. That said, if you're considering staying here, I would recommend.
