One of the nicest campgrounds I have ever seen. I did not explore the Iroquois Campground but I did explore the portaj campground and there does not seem to be a bad campsite anywhere. The toilets were not the best I have ever seen. There was no hand sanitizer, the smell was atrocious and they ran out of toilet paper which did not get replaced prior to my departure. The park has a very nice Camp store where you can buy hot food, your ice and your firewood. There seems to be a very nice Beach located next to the store that I did not get a good chance to look at. There is also a boat launch and a beach located in the Iroquois Campground. The boat launch and Beach seem to be on a small Inlet off of the main river. The beach itself looks nice enough oh, but the inlet was choked with water chestnuts which made paddling difficult and I'm sure is not a big favorite with those operating motor boats. Everything is a fair distance apart so it is several minutes drive from many of the campsites to the main Beach or to the main office. However, that distance also extends to the campsites meaning they are not right on top of each other. The campsites are well spaced with plenty of trees between them affording more privacy than you usually get at a campground. Chances are you will only get small glimpses of your neighbors through the trees. Each campsite is spacious and most have room for motorized camping vehicles. The amenities are located within easy reach of each of the campsites and the main Comfort stations are located within each of the different campsite areas. I will definitely camp...

Some sites are regular sized and designed for small tents and "pop-up trailers" these are in the Algonquin section and set up in little circles. One circle is pet free, one circle is radio free but the rest are normal. Another section of the park has bigger sites that are large enough for RV's or multiple tents. This is the Portage section, where I stayed on a site that was about 25 feet wide and 28 feet long. The third grouping of sites seems to cater to mostly full sized trailers. There are also group camping sites for scout troops, etc. The Park is Very Expansive ( my site was 5km from the front gate) and includes two beaches, two boat launching spots, a camp store with burgers, fries, ice cream as well as camping gear, toys, fishing gear, pop, slush puppies, milk, bread, etc. Each section has it's own comfort station with clean bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities. Many sites are available for monthly or seasonal booking and many come with hydro hookups. The entrance is right off the 417 near the Ontario/ Quebec border. About 75 minutes from Ottawa and 20 minutes from Montreal.

That's the good stuff. Here is why only four stars out of five. Dogs are allowed but must be on leash at all times so that they don't interact with local animals ( deer, ducks, turtles, wild turkeys, wild boar, coyotes and others.). Second bad is the beaches are not really suitable for swimming due to thissle infestation and rough waves. I still recommend this park for anyone in eastern Ontario or...

Amazing Park so close to Ottawa and Montreal!

This is the 3rd year we have gone there, but this year we went later in the year. In the month of September. But we had a trailer and we ended up taking a site with an electrical outlet. So glad we did. We needed the heat, but even though it was cold, there were still many other campers there, even those still camping in tents.

The staff were amazing as usual. Though I did find that late in the year the store closes and so we had to go to the front for everything like wood and ice, but be warned, the selection which they have at the store (Of which it has a huge selection, including a snack bar where you can guy fries, hot dogs and other hot foods and ice cream, packaged or from tubs) so be warned that later in the year as it gets colder out selection is limited. But we saw staff all the time.

Bathrooms were always clean and never had issues with a mess. We didn't take showers this late in the year but when I checked in on them they were very clean.

Prices are extremely good, they are a National Park so most prices are pretty well the same across the board. Based on what you need, take and want. We took ours for 2 nights. We have camped there with my sister's and their families and they love it there. The site we took this year was probably one of the best ones we have had so far.

Would I recommend this site for camping? Heck yeah. We camped with friends from Montreal there since it was halfway...

Stayed in the Portage campground. Sites are very large with great privacy. The ground is more like a lawn than a traditional campsite, very smooth with no rocks or large tree roots to negotiate while setting up a tent. Firepits in this area are basically non-existent as we didn't see any large steel firepits in this campground. Other campground areas in the park do have the steel firepits, but the sites in the Champlain campground are small with very little privacy. Between the two side by side sites we had there was one circle of small rocks that served as our firepit. The comfort station was clean and sanitary and offers a dish washing station which is a great bonus. Canoeing in the river is fun with lots of marshy inlet areas. However the water is a weird grey colour and has a nasty, chemical smell. We also noticed a lack of frogs and turtles and the fish we did see were all very small, up to 10 - 14cms. Perhaps we just didn't see any larger fish due to the lack of visibility into the water. Waterchestnut is also a huge problem in the river. The park offers 4 beach and pic nic areas but I'm not convinced I would swim in the river. None of our group did despite the hot, sunny weather. Staff was friendly and amenities are more than adequate. Despite the colour and odour of the river we enjoyed our stay at Voyager Provincial Park.
