The East Point Lighthouse is a great tourist spot in PEI. We visited this place prior to tourist season so the area was very quiet and not busy at all.
The roads that lead to this easternmost point of PEI are all country roads, there are no "major freeways" on the island like this you'll find elsewhere in Canada (major cities I.e., Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver)
The lighthouse is beautiful and not very big. There's a small lot for you to park your car (free) and you get good views of the water too.

Read moreI live nearby. This marsh was divided in half. One side was a freshwater marsh, spring fed and separated by a dam. The other half a salt water marsh, tida as the tide would enter Charlottetown harbour, un the Hillsborough fill or drain the salt side. In 2021 the dam was perfectly opened with the salt water now filling the entire marsh. It is now undergoing a transformation which may be interesting to witness. Lots to do and see. Read moreAhhh..., we finally got here. We were on PEI last year but had limited time. This year we’re spending two weeks thus we had the opportunity to drive Rt16 to the East Point Lighthouse. It was a pleasurable drive along the coast and we stopped at several places along the way. When we got to the lighthouse it was raining so we didn’t get to walk around very much.
