small museum with some relics and explanations of the land. They also have a tiny gift shop selling Cree goods. The cost is 10$ for adults and 5$ for seniors. My gripe is that they are closed between 12:00 and 1pm for lunch, we arrived at 11:40, i thought if you're inside, it's ok, but somebody came towards us while we were looking at the exhibit and told us that we need to leave because they are closed for lunch. Doesn't make sense but ok.

You must stop here if you are in the area. I visited during a road trip to check out the North and am so glad that I did. I thought I had an idea of the history of the Cree but the Centre really brought things home. You can see, in a very real and personal way, their connection to this amazing part of the world. I was lucky enough to visit during Goose Break and really got to see how the community comes together.

Beautiful building to see Cree heritage and information about the history of Chisasibi. Lots of exhibits and cultural value audio about bear pictures. I like the structure of the building and the meaning of the months. A guide map will help you to find additional information. Fees for entrance. Adults $10 easy parking.

This museum seems to have more than local history and culture to share, it also does a pretty good job at presenting an experience that I would describe as it stayed with me all the way home! For first timers in town like myself, I would argue that my prior visits at LG1 and LG2 would not be truly complete without stopping by this place for "tie-ins". I would most definitely recommend stopping by here first before exploring the rest of Chisasibi to get an even better appreciation of the community and understanding some of the do's and don'ts. Coming all the way from Montreal, I can happily say that safely reaching Chisasibi is perhaps a personal achievement, although getting to learn from this museum ultimately makes the whole point of my trip! The staff are also very friendly and eager to share more of what they know, really thank...
