A little-known gem located outside the village of Lyn just 5mins drive northwest from Brockville. It used to be a rock quarry that flooded with underground water. At the east end there is a cute beach with a long dock, staffed in summer by shifts of young lifeguards who also provide children's swimming lessons. There is enough sand in the beach for kids to construct things & parents can sit at one of picnic tables featuring umbrellas which the lifeguards put up each day. Other than the beach there are two lawn sections on rolling hills that kids can run in or families can play spots. There are also some walking trails but I haven't done these yet. The west end is open water where there's a bit of a boat launch. Parking spots are at both ends, but u need to walk in from there. Plz note the only facilities are a men & women's outhouse. It's hard to change here as it's small & has no benches, & is smelly. It would be nice if they could build a separate change room or proper flushing toilets...
