A nice museum to visit, that will only improve as it completes more of its expansion projects. I found that there was more emphasis on displaying artifacts than providing a description and their role in the railway. While there was a brief summary of the railway and it's life on the island I felt more could have been done to convey the impact the railway had on the island. It is a small museum run by, what I assume, are volunteers who do a good job keeping maintaining the museum. It does sound like, through overheard conversations from the volunteers, the museum is having financial difficulties. I recommend stopping by this museum and supporting it so that they can continue to operate a d...

Great place if you are a lover of trains . If not still a cool place to take a little break . They are right next to the walking / biking trails with free accessible washrooms and play area . Got some cool artifacts and areas to walk into to look around at things. They also have a model train set up that you can watch and if they have the rides going. They do have a speeder train. They have. A pump hand cart. As of 2023 they did not have the min train ride set up ( they said hopefully by 2024 season they will have the new one up and running ) I would call ahead to see if they are a go if they have staff to run them. Great for...

Was very disappointed!!! I saw the website and was interested in visiting. I have always loved trains. I drove from Moncton 3 hours 1/2 all ready to go because based on the website I believed I could ride the mini train and take a ride around the park. Unfortunately it has been discontinued permanently due rising cost in maintenance. The rest of the place was okay but I spent a lot of money on gas plus a bridge toll, just to visit this place. Unless you're staying on the island for a bit I would not recommend making the trip just to see this place. Which is what I did. Ultimately felt like a total waste of my day, ...

A nice mix of educational and interesting for kids. Definitely a great stop for train enthusiasts. There are three buildings to go through and learn about the history of trains on PEI, and then a little train ride to take as well. There's a model town and train set as well. The space is quite beautiful and has a playground and access to the trails. When I was there, it was full of blooming wild roses. It was also during Covid 19 that I visited, and they had really well laid out arrows and a route to safety take. The space seems quite wheelchair friendly with a ramp and accessible spaces as well.

Google says it’s open, their website says it’s open and even their voicemail says it’s open 7 days a week in season so we drove all the way (+1hour) to find out it’s closed on Saturdays!!! Clearly very bad communication and 3 disappointed kids… Why do you close a museum in a touristic place in high season on weekends?! Thanks for nothing.

We really enjoyed our visit. Very informative, lots of model trains. 3 buildings to walk through and learn about the history of trains and the ferry boat on PEI. We didn't do the train ride but there is a small train you can pay extra to ride through the woods. Nice little gift shop with great prices.
