We booked the 90-minute tour. It wasn’t a terrible experience but it felt overpriced and underdelivered for what was promised. If you happen to be in the area and want something quick and casual, maybe it’s worth a look. But for us, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. Our tour guide was the highlight – funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. The waffles and syrup tasting was enjoyable, and the maple toffee sample was a nice touch. Lovely waiting area with lawn chairs and a real fire – very cozy! The barn itself is beautiful & spacious with lots of seating. There was no actual demonstration of how maple syrup is produced. We were told it was off-season, but even a basic explanation with the tools or equipment would’ve been appreciated. For the price, it would’ve been nice to receive a small complimentary item – even a mini bottle of syrup – as a souvenir or thank-you. The museum section is very small and quite simple. Read moreThe Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario is a charming, self-guided museum that showcases a fascinating collection of historical tools and equipment used in the traditional production of maple syrup. While the museum itself is relatively small, it’s packed with interesting pieces that highlight the rich history of syrup making in Ontario.
One of the highlights of the visit is the maple syrup tasting. You get to try different varieties of syrup, and it’s amazing how you can actually taste the subtle differences between them. It’s a real treat for anyone who loves maple syrup!
After the museum, there’s a beautiful trail that leads you to the sugar shack, where you can learn more about the modern syrup-making process. The walk is peaceful and scenic, making it a great addition to the overall experience. Whether you’re a history buff or just a fan of maple syrup, this place is well...
Read moreThis was actually a really nice experience. We booked our tour a day ahead and had no clue what to expect.
Went there, enough parking space for everybody. Our tour guide (Brandon I believe) did a great job to explain everything on the tour and we could as a lot of questions.
Had a nice tasting with waffle and icecream after that and purchased a lot of maple syrup because it was actually really...
