Chutes Windigo — Attraction in Ferme-Neuve

Beware! We followed the signs to Chutes Windigo and mistakenly took a road that was only for ATV's and snowmobiles. We almost destroyed our car trying to get back out. They need better signage indicating that this is not a road for cars! Eventually we made our way there (follow Google maps!) and it was gorgeous. The falls did not seem safe for kids at all! Not without a helmet, water shoes and a life vest. My boyfriend went down from halfway and had a blast but it is risky for sure! There are signs saying not to swim but we ignored those and swam at the base of the falls...

Beautiful spot, not a lot of people. It isn't great getting there, however. Once you get past Ferme-Neuve, the road in reminds me of driving in rural parts of 3rd world countries. Belle chutes, j'y suis allez au mois d'octobre donc je n'ai pas pu glisser dans les chutes. Facile d'accès a partir du stationnement. 5 min de marche. Stationnement gratuit. Par contre l'accès au chute n'est pas gratuit. Plusieurs personnes vont mettre moins d'étoiles a cause de cela mais il faut comprendre qu'il font payer afin d'entretenir le site. La seul raison pourquoi j'enlève des étoiles est du au chemin pour s'y rendre. Il faut rouler Hyper doucement et faire vraiment attention. Pour les personnes comme moi ayant un petit véhicule, je ne le recommande pas dutout. Mon véhicule n'a rien eux par chance je dirais même un miracle. A vos risques et périles. Nous nous sommes perdue en chemin mais nous avons trouver le village de windigo avec un magnifique hôtel/chalet. C'est sur que nous...
