Great 5km roundtrip hike to see some sweet little falls, entrance is beside the Fernie Visitors Centre, with a map of the trails. Very well marked and accessable to most. Grafitti truck box just off the path to check out. Easy up and down spots, some narrower spots with drop offs, well shaded for summer days. Dogs on leash. Can be slippery at the very last little bit to get right beside or under the falls, definitely not for everyone to clamber over but most could make it. If you don't want to scramble at all there is a great spot to stop and see the falls just before that. The falls have a decent flat spot to enjoy snacks, take awesome photos and hang out in the water. They will post Bear sightings at the trail head. Definitely be Bear aware! And we were fine with three French Bulldogs on leashes the whole way, the small one needed help to cross the rocks to the bottom of the falls. Definitely recommend this hike to all levels. Parking is in the visitor center lot below, with washrooms inside.

There is a great visitor Center before entering into Fernie with a good parking lot. There's a nice coal miner trolley and old oil tower by the base of the trail that leads you to the falls. The trail leading to the falls has a small incline but that is fairly easy and it takes about an hour and a half at the moderate pace. You can get to the falls and take beautiful pictures and usually it's not a crowded path. Great waterfall to visit in the summer.

We had an amazing hike during the fall. The trail is pretty easy and kid friendly. The trail is by the creek so you can cool off. There are benches & picnic tables along the way to get some rest and have a snack. The trail was not crowded. There is enough parking at the visitor centre. You can avoid the initial climb by walking by the highway and get to the trail from the acess road nearby. The water level can vary depending on the season of your visit.

Spent a night in Fernie and left the following morning, prior to continuing our drive, we decided to stop off and do Fairy Creek Falls. Definitely an easier hike to do, and I'd almost consider it more of a nature walk than an actual hike. Nothing too steep, and the path was well maintained with minimal rocks/debris spread over the trail. Took us 30-40 minutes to get to the falls from the parking lot going at a medium pace. Falls are definitely gorgeous and worth checking out. If you want to get up close to the falls, you need to cross a mini waterfall (all rocks), which can be slippery without any real handrails. It's definitely doable to cross, but does warrant some caution as one can slip while trying to cross this section. There is an area before the mini waterfall where you can stand to get photos of the falls, so you don't have to go right up close to the falls if you don't want to.

I'd definitely recommend this hike for those looking for a 90-120 minute (round trip) experience with nature, without having to expel too much energy. We went through the trail at around 11:00am on a Friday and I would say it was fairly quiet in terms of other hikers. Just be mindful of wildlife while doing this hike as we did come across a few deer, and also numerous signs warning of bears...

Beautiful and easy hike for the whole family. Our first time in Canada and recommended this place by a wonderful waitress at Chilango's restaurant. Made several stops along the way to enjoy the creek and sunset views. Lovely little waterfall at the end. You can keep hiking past that point for a little more challenging and longer hike. Would recommend for dog walking but it's a back and out trail so you pass back out closely to incoming hikers. Some dogs were not on a leash and came at us aggressively barking, scaring our children, well ahead of their owners on the trail. Please...
