It's a nice looking beach, but the overwhelming algae, the smell that goes with it, and rude neighbours, made it an unpleasant experience. One neighbour felt it her duty to come out of her house, four doors in, and misinform us as to their and our rights.

If the neighbours are looking to inform the beach going public, your best bet would be to work with the city and post informational signs, including the fact that some of these are water lots that pre-date legislature allowing a right of way. If you tell people in a polite, and straightforward manner, maybe people won't mirror your ridiculous Karen-like attitude.

You can avoid the algae and smell if you head down the beach toward crescent beach. Any one of the waterfront windows is accessible and you can setup between the marked posts (red and white). Crescent beach isn't anywhere near as big as Google makes it out to be and the it can get busy. If the parking is full look elsewhere, but on a weekday it was nice (no rocks, no...

Waverly Beach Park is a great location to take friends, family and your dog. The walking trails go through some of the historic remains of what used to be there and signs indicate what you are looking at. The park trails are a popular place for dogs but quiet enough that you can avoid other dogs if your dog doesn't like to make friends.

There is parking at the main beach or at the other entrance along the trail closed to Fort Erie Beach. The waterfront trail takes you from one end down to the beach and back again. Small ruins/remains of buildings are a great place to explore or adventure in whilst learning about the area.

The park also has a nice grass area where families will BBQ together or just hang out in the shade while others walk down to the beach. You can still be visible if swimming from this grass area which makes it a good spot for those not looking to take much sun.

Overall a very nice local beach that tourists don't know enough about to...

Beautiful wooded area with nice views and a beach. They dont test the water quality here but my boyfriend and I went swimming here last August and didnt get sick or die so 🤷‍♀️...there was no one else there swimming which was nice but slightly unnerving for us as we werent sure if we were allowed to swim or if it's because the water is gross but again that was almost a year ago and we're still here. There was a bit of an unpleasant odor at the one end of the beach so we just moved further up wind and it was fine. Some sharp spots under foot. We were there on a super windy day and the waves were...

Beautiful, peaceful spot to watch the sun come up - and to enjoy the eclipse that happened on April 8. 😉 You get a great view of Buffalo in the distance, the horizon is beautiful, and it's just a really nice place that feels like it's in cottage country. Some cool ruins, though if you have kids please keep an eye on them - they could get hurt. Parts of the beach are private, but there's a large public area as well. There are public washrooms. The sand is "meh". I saw a few people walking barefoot, but there were so many shells and rocks that I couldn't see how it was comfortable for them.

A scenic view with plenty of history. Parking is limited to maybe 20 or so spots. There are slabs of old concrete from the amusement park and the old hotel everywhere. The beach is sand. Amenities are closed due to covid. Great location near the friendship trail! Enjoyed walking through the woods and along the old ruins, concrete slabs, a concrete breakwall and foundations litter the area. Those parts aren't ideal for younger children. Clearly teenagers have been partying in the woods and in the old structures. Still, the park itself is nice to visit.

It looks nice at first sight; however, it's not a place where you would like to spend more than a few minutes. Foul smell, I assume, from the water processing plant engulfs the area. Very strong currents so it's a no swimming beach, not that anyone would enjoy swimming in such a murky water. The park is for the most part abandoned and waiting to be devoured by the lake. The sandy area is not that bad to lay down if you manage to distract from the issues above.
