I spent the weekend here with my family. It was our first time trying this campground.
We started off having a great time, we all enjoyed the quarry. Lifejackets are mandatory for the waterpark even for adults and cost $10 plus a $30 deposit each life jacket. Kids must follow the safety rules. I seen a few get asked to leave for not listening. The life guards were great and friendly.
The bathrooms would have been nicest campground bathroom I'd ever seen IF they were clean enough to actually use them that is. They don't have mens or women's Just a bunch of individual bathrooms. Each room having 2 toilets. 1 big 1 child sized, a sink and a shower. I think they only clean the bathrooms once a day because early in the morning was the only time they were clean enough to use. Majority of the time the soap was empty, the garbage was full of diapers and bugs everywhere all over the toilet. After dark it is impossible to use the bathrooms because literallyevery inch of the walls, doors, sink snd toilets are covered in tiny bugs. Even bringing cleaning supplies to clean the bugs off the toilet there were so many that they were back before we could even sit down. There's also a few bathrooms where the doors don't lock properly and ppl were constantly getting walked in on.
The playground was small but they also have a inflatable jumping pillow. It was too hot to touch during the day but kids enjoyed it in the evening time.
They sell minimal candy, pop and dippin dots ice cream. No store or food is available.
What ruined the trip for us was was Paladin Securty. We were looking forward to our last night as everyone around us had packed up and left. There was nobody within 10 to 15 sites of us in every direction. Because we were the only ones in that area Security would walk up, look at us, and walk away. It felt awkward. Our entire family was INSIDE our trailer playing board games when we heard footsteps , all of the sudden someone was shining a flashlight INTO our windows. It was security telling us we need to be quiet. It was 11:03 pm. My husband's says "were not allowed to talk? There's not even anyone around us" security says it doesn't matter because its after 11pm. My husband starts asking what gives them the right to look into our windows withiut announcing there presence or saying anything to get our attention first. To avoid conflict i say ok we will be quiet. We finish our game, we leave the kids in the trailer to get ready for bed and my husband and i are sitting by the fire quietly. He goes to show me a video on his phone and as we are watching it security walks by again and tells us we can't have the audio playing on the phone after 11pm. The phone volume was extremely low and again, no other campers were anywhere near us. The security guard would continue to harass over little minescule things all night to the point we considered packing up right then in the middle of the night. All we were trying to do is relax by the fire in peace. We were not drinking, being loud or disrespectful AT ALL. If your looking to sit by a fire and have adult time at night then I would not reccomend this place at all. The Quarry and the water activities are great but thats it. We had fun but I doubt we would...

Family friendly with ample activities for the kids, such as beach volley ball, a ping pong table if you have your own paddles and ball, basketball net, horseshoe pit, bocce ball, a bounce pillow, movies at the park, a shaded picnic area with picnic tables where activities and crafts are run by the staff, and of course the water activities at the quarry.
The sites offer electricity and water, but no sewage; however, there is a dumping station near the entrance/exit or you can pay a fee to have them come to your site to pump out your tanks.
There are no lakes or rivers, but an exceptionally well kept spring fed quarry with a man made beach that already has umbrellas, plus picnic tables, that is close to the washrooms.
The quarry is sectioned off so you can fish, kayak, paddle board or access the inflatables. Paddle boats and life jackets are available for rent.
Inflatables are all connected like a maze, so hours of fun for kids as well as adults; in which you MUST wear a life jacket regardless of age. Numerous lifeguards on site, plus one on a paddle boat behind the inflatables; which truly impressed me because safety is always my concern with my kids. Hands down the best life guarding system I have seen in my five years of camping at different transient sites.
Family owned and the owner, Ellie, was very friendly and approachable. The staff were fantastic, would check for our bracelets when we walked and/or rode through with our bikes. There are garbage and recycling bins throughout the grounds that were disposed of daily by the staff. Security walks the grounds in the evening and rules are enforced; which is nice to see that there is follow through. It appears that only seasonal’s have golf carts; which is fine by me so it’s not like a race track. Many speed bumps to prevent speeding, so safe for kids to bike on the grounds.
Ten minutes from a Sobey’s/Walmart, and 20 minutes from the Peace Bridge, and minutes from the Friendship Trail if you wish for a long smooth biking or waking trail.
The only reason I did not give a five star review was due to the bathrooms/showers needing updating or power washing daily. Other than that, I would sincerely consider getting a seasonal site at this campground, which is a huge compliment from me because I am very particular and there is only one other place I would even consider a seasonal site at.
Day passes are available, but I recommend a camping weekend in order to fully enjoy the campground’s amenities.
I highly recommend you check this campground out and I personally look forward to returning again in the near future with my family and our...
Read moreAbsolutely ruined our summer. We had paid for 2 spots side by side to avoid the problem and to have the room for when the rest of our group arrived. We had our tents and tables set up and had to run to the local store to get tent pegs and the rest of our necessities. By the time we arrived back they had double rented our spot and we had a lady and her older daughter at our site. My husband explained nicely the situation , she pointed at the one tent she moved of ours and said thats not big e ought to need any more space than that. ( not knowing we had 6 tents and our kitchen tent plus trailer ). So we informed her that she was assuming in the wrong direction and that we had a full group coming with kids and family for our week summer vacation. The situation ended up with us having the lady spit on our vehicle and try to swing a hammer at my husband and our vehicle. The managers got involved , and did absolutely nothing to help. The situation happened again later as she was drinking up the path with her group. ( she had a full group she was camping with with empty spots beside her) she whipped a bottle at our car as we drove by, so yes thats when I had my choice of words finally with her. The management rather than defusing the situation with the threats of the hammer at the begging, they allowed her to stay beside is and the situation escalated with no need. It all could have been prevented with proper management. In the big picture we needed up packing up my daughter , her wheel chair, all of her equipment and the rest of our stuff and we had to leave to feel safe. Since then, we have yet go return which sucks because we all enjoyed it every year for a long time. Just sucked thats it ended up that way when it was so unfortunate and could have been avoided very very easily. Best of luck to everyone that goes. We did have fun times before. But that visit lost us alotnof hope and respect for how it is ran and operated. Have a great day. Hope it...
