I am disappointed by the recent change of adding multiple bumps at the only green run of the park. They are unsafe.
I injured my knees severely when coming down from the second large bump on that green run yesterday around 4 pm. I was taken to the First Aid triage and within 30 minutes, came 2 other people, injured at the exact same spot. While waiting at the ER in the hospital nearby that evening, there were a total of 5 people who fell and injured themselves badly AT THAT SPOT! Even the nurse at the hospital said it is not normal for them to treat so many ski injuries on a good-weathered Saturday.
It was also very dangerous while waiting for help on the spot I fell, because people coming down could not see me as their views were blocked by the large bump in front of me!
This change is bad news for beginners and will potentially cause more injuries because beginners will now have to transition from bunny hills directly to a blue run.
I am a beginner/intermediate skier and I have been to mission ridge 20 plus times. I have fallen before but have not injured myself this bad. Other factors may have caused my injuries. But my experience while waiting for help and the amount of people who got injured definitely indicates that...
Read moreJust to be clear this is not a 4 star ski hill when compared to other ski resorts in general. Im not sure that I could technically give it a single star in that context. It is however the best ski hill that is 45 minutes from Regina. Given that Regina is in the middle of the Prairies it is remarkable that it even exists.
It is however about as good as it is possible to get for what it is and has a decent terrain section for snowboarding. Otherwise the runs are short but are as long as exists this close to Regina. If you ski regularly it is all beginner to intermediate. It does have back diamond and even a double black diamond run but those just have very short narrow parts that are no challenge for an intermediate. It is quite inexpensive, well groomed and has really good snowmaking. The lodge is basic but good for a small ski hill. The only complaint that I have about it is that the water cooler is located in the adults only bar section. Kids need water too so please just move it downstairs because then kids can get their own water and you don't have to run up there every five minutes to get it for them
It is really good fun as long as you know what to expect and enjoy it...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with the state of customer service and equipment rental at Mission Ridge Ski Resort. I ordered a full set of equipment, including ski pants and goggles, only to find the quality shockingly unacceptable. The only ski pants available were several sizes too small and had a large, visible hole in the back. As for the goggles, they were the kind of low-quality items you’d expect to find at a dollar store, with broken bands that made them unusable.
To add insult to injury, all of this subpar gear came to over $100, with a prompt to tip starting at 15%. Tipping? For this level of service? Absolutely not.
This resort used to be a great destination seven years ago, but it’s clear that standards have plummeted. The owners seem far more focused on squeezing every last dollar out of guests than on providing a decent experience. It’s truly a shame to see what greed has done to a place that once held...
