Thie is such a great place for beginners...even just for young kids to see so many other young kids in the chalet and on the hill helps eliminate some of the intimidation of the hill, the equipment, etc. I think it is a much less overwhelming experience than a full sized ski resort.
We started going here to use the free toboggan hill (can't beat reliable snow, a clear safe slope, and an indoor chalet to heat up), and we progressed into snow tubing and snowboard lessons.
The instructors were fantastic and really catered to the level of the learner and their comfort.
If you're in the area, this is the perfect place to take young and learning ski/snowboarders to get the basics.
The snowtubing and tobogganing is fun for all ages.
I will say, this space truly is just for beginners and new learners progressing their skill level...the hill does have a small terrain park, which is great as skills advance....but it would be unsuitable for experienced riders unless they're there simply on the slope as parents or friends to teach/work with beginners... the hill is always full of small children learning the basics and it'd be unfulfilling for skilled riders looking...
Read moreWe (our family and friends) recently visited here to go tubing and skiing and had an amazing time. The ROC provides two areas, one for tubing and the other one for skiing or snowboarding.
The slopes were well maintained and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The tubing hill was a thrilling experience for beginners. There It offers multiple lanes for tubing, allowing for simultaneous rides down the slope. The hill is well-maintained, with carefully groomed snow making for a smooth and enjoyable ride.
We went there between two to four pm on a Sunday afternoon and the line was pretty long, about a fifteen to twenty minute wait. So I’d suggest trying to arrive before two pm or after four pm to make the best of your visit.
I must mention that the process of unloading skis and snowboards was a bit cumbersome. It would have been more convenient if there were designated areas for unloading equipment, especially during busy hours.
Overall, I would highly recommend ROC for tubing. It is a great place for friends or family, and for the price of twenty-five dollars (before tax) I’d totally recommend it. It’s fun...
Read moreWonderful staff. Large open space with a lot of sunlight. Full commercial kitchen. Large gas fireplace.
Overall, it's a great place to host small to medium venues. We had seating for 80 people and they were all comfortable with plenty room still leftover. The staff will accommodate and work with you.
The technology is a bit outdated, you can plug in your laptop with HDMI out and it will play through some large LED Sharp TVs (70", 50", 50"). The speakers throughout the space will only play through the built in radio; no wireless or Bluetooth connectivity available. Wifi is available for free.
The large coffe dispensers were a huge hit and make good coffee, I used the large drip coffee Tim Hortons that I picked up from Nofrills. The washrooms are huge and clean. Plenty parking available for guests. Commercial grade walk-in fridge available for use.
Pricing was fair although the hourly service can put you under a little stress if you don't plan and manage the venue accordingly, make sure to add an extra hour before and after to make it less stressful.
Highly recommend the place. Will...
