What an inviting long stretch of undulating sandy beach is here to be enjoyed by one and all. The refreshing fresh water beach has numerous sand dunes.

It takes a long time until the lake becomes deep and cool. If possible, July and August are more preferential as Lake Simcoe is an extremely large body of water; much time needs to pass until its water is once again warm.

Across the road is a large public park with parking and picnic tables. On weekends, it is imperative to arrive early to find availability.

This is a drawback as there are always more prospective daytrippers than space does allow. The "No Stopping" zones are strictly enforced.

Be sure to pack a picnic basket and cooler. Some lounge chairs, blankets and towels are sure to come in handy.

Should weekdays be available for a trip up to the lake, everything is much quieter.

By motor vehicle, the towns of Jackson’s Point and Sutton are close by for a myriad of reasons.

By all means relax and enjoy the dayā€¼ļø

Be sure to remember to bring along the sun screen...

A beautiful place away from the normal holiday places. We went in October and it was very beautiful. You could see nature in all its autumn splendor.

There were many camping sites before approaching the beach itself. I guess you can book a camping ground for yourself which are essentially clearings in the forest with trees on 3 sides. The entrances had boards with dates on them which I think are till the day that particular camp is booked.

People were swimming and boating on the lake. You could bring your own stuff.

The only downside I felt was the ground itself which is more of an inconvenience. It had rained that day and the soil was all loose around the in-roads which you use to explore the place. We couldn't explore the place completely because our feet were sinking into the mud.

Other than that, a beautiful place to send your leisure time.

Since there are already so many photos of the beach, I've posted photos that are of the roads that lead to the beach. I found them more beautiful than the...

Very small beach, limited public parking (fills quickly on weekends, $20 to park all day or $4/hr), good park space, the usual amenities - working sinks and toilets - nothing immediately nearby in terms of food (nothing within a few minutes walk).

Water is pretty shallow and calm, there are no natural currents, wind determines where you may drift, beach is usually covered in a mix of sand, shells, twigs and rocks. You need to walk/swim past a small set of fist sized underwater rocks before you get out into the sand based swimming area. This can be hard on the feet without sandals / swimming shoes.

The water can become very warm (tropical like) during a summer heatwave reaching temperatures in the upper 20s and occasionally low 30s near the shoreline.

It's good alternative if the drive to Wasaga is too far or you prefer warmer water conditions on a lake with far fewer waves, but unlike Wasaga / Sauble / Turkey Point there is no entertainment/shopping strip, it is...
