If you loathe human interaction like me, this is the beach for you. There was barely anyone here.
The locks on the mens changerooms are broken and the toilet stalls are only like 4.5 feet tall, but again, it wasn't that busy the two times we were here anyway and it presents a fun challenging game to do your business quickly before anyone has a chance to see the goods. Some guy knocked while I was emptying last nights dinner and I could see his eyebrows poking over the top, but not quite his eyes so I actually won the game.
But nonetheless, I would still consider fixing this because unlike me, I would imagine most would not be terribly fond of this game.
Sidenote, it is a nice sandy beach, but the actual shoreline is very rocky which didn't bother me, since I wore sandals. It is something to note in case that's not your thing.
But dogs do not have the ability to wear sandals and they can get blisters. He has some cute doggo socks on now for his blisters to heal but his face said the playtime was worth 💖 🥰 I didn't see any no dogs signs but just a heads up if you are taking your furry boyo here.
This place also has the coolest piece of playground equipment I have ever seen. There's a reaction game electrically powered by a crank to start the game. There are 5 lights you have to touch as fast as you can when they light up and it tells you your score at the end.
Obviously, my son and I being the video game enthusiasts that we are, found a way to abuse the system by playing together, with his hands rapid tapping two lights, my left hand tapping one, and my thumb and forefinger over the other two. We got the maximum score of 99
Parking info: $20 parking for the day, or $4 per hour, and free after 5pm Not bad!
I will definitely be coming back just for the fact it was so peaceful.
Only minus 1 star for the fun game probably most people don't...
Read moreRotary Cove Beach in Goderich, ON, presents a bit of a paradox. The beach boasts a stunning view that can make you feel as if you've been transported to Costa Rica, with vibrant blue water visible further out. This scenic beauty earns a commendable 4 out of 5 rating for its picturesque landscape.
However, the experience takes a downturn when it comes to the water itself. Closer to shore, the water becomes a murky grey, accompanied by a foul smell that significantly detracts from the beach's appeal. For this reason, I can only give the water experience a 2 out of 5.
In comparison, Grand Bend, Sauble Beach, and the beaches at Point Pelee offer a much more pleasant overall experience. These alternatives feature cleaner water and generally better conditions, making them preferable options for beachgoers looking for both beauty...
Read moreCan't say enough about this wonderful beach experience! Along a 1.3km boardwalk you can easily access three beach areas, each with its own washrooms/changing rooms, playground, and ample parking. The amenities made it easy to visit with small children. Also, there is plenty of shade and picnic tables plus a great restaurant, which offered beautiful views and great fish tacos. The water is a beautiful aquamarine, which my daughter kept saying, "reminder her of Jamaica". The entry is rocky (for a few meters) but nothing my 4 & 6 year old couldn't handle.
As per other reviews, yes parking is $20 a day - but for a super clean, safe and child- friendly experience, this was a bargain for a days' entertainment. We will...
