This was a fantastic experience. We took the trip to Friendly Cove/Yuquot. The crew is friendly. The ship is historical and comfortable to ride on, and the galley serves tasty food. The tree- covered mountains of the channel are gorgeous and restful to view. The ride is relaxing, allowing for friendly chats with other passengers. We were fortunate to see a pod of Orcas along the way. At Yuquot we enjoyed meeting master wood carver Sanford Williams and eating blackberries along the trails. Read moreWe did the Tuesday Nootka Sound Day cruise and had a great time spending about 11h on the boat. It's great to see the crew loading and offloading all kinds of things at a dozen fish farms, coves and resorts in the sound with an amazing scenery as a backdrop. You never know how far the route will take you as that depends on what deliveries and pick-ups are scheduled. The boat itself is a beautiful peace of engineering from the 1940s but is very well maintained and has everything you need for the day. Now with that said you need to be a patient person, It is after all a working vehicle and there are a lot of stops where you just sit there dong nothing for 30-60 minutes. Most of our stops was to Salmon farms. I don't really see kids enjoying it all that much. Food was good and at a reasonable price.
