The lady at the entrance was so friendly, that we felt welcome right away. Not being from Granby we paid the small daily fee to go for a little walk in the woods, which was well worth it. It was a hot summer afternoon, and everything was lush and green without too many bugs, as the sun was still up. There is wildlife aplenty: we almost stepped on frogs, the little red squirrels and chipmunks must be half tame, as it seemed as if they were following us for food, so I got a few nice close up pictures. There were plenty of beautiful birds to observe as well. In some places the woods had a fairytale atmosphere with ferns and moss, dappled in sunlight streaming through the canopy of the leaves.
