Hunting season is only in the fall and winter. Can go on certain days during hunting season. Very long if you go to the counter-clockwise trail. From entrance. It's 15km one way. Then country roads to get back. No shortcuts I found. Check the booth map at the entrance. There's is only one good map in the chicken coup. Very confusing. There are more than two trails. If you go clockwise, the 3km trail is short. That starts at the entrance. The north eastern trail isn't marked very clearly and makes it hard to follow the path. The two trails from the main entrance is bike friendly. The mallard pond trail has fallen over trees blocking the trail and other unknown trails but more private. I went early spring, and there were deep water crossings. Garbage can was found in the chicken coup. That's the only garbage can they have. Lots geese, beavers, and rare birds that I haven't seen much elsewhere. I think I found 4 white mute swans. I found there was some logging done, and they brought heavy machinery through the forest. Thus compacting and destroying the soil. Very messy way of harvesting logs... was disappointed. Some atvs made new trails, thus destroying natural vegetation on the north side trail. Ran right over the dogwood bushes. Saw some oil on the surfaelce if the marsh water probably from the ATVs. Lots of shotgunn shells were left behind, too. Would not approve. ...

The bugs will eat you alive. The moment you open your car door. Depending on the season. I’d only go here when it’s cold out lol 😂 The horse flies are bigger than bubble bees 🐝 The fishing is so bad. Kayaks only if you value your boat. Stumps everywhere. Most of the time there are people here. Yes you have to pay 💰 to enjoy our wild life parks but I just wish there was more for people who have houses and trailers around this area. They should all have passes they can use a few times a year. And I bet people would just donate a couple $20.00 to the park regardless. Take a day and hike around, pack a cooler. And if you hate bugs, this is not for you. There are ticks in...

Such a beautiful wild Marsh area, it features ⛵ boating, hunting, 🎣 fishing within the place. Of course, you need to bring your own equipments and license for the activities you plan to do.

The area is huge and recommend to drive your vehicle to each point of interest, just remember to drive in decent speed within the area, people do walk around the road.

I recommend to go near the "South boat launch point", there is a one line drive path which cross the Marsh and it is beautiful!! Remember to park at "South boat launch point" parking lot to keep the drive path...

On Aug 3rd, I launched my kayak at 6:15am on the east side, which has one lane dirt road that goes south from the main parking lot. There are many submerged water plants in some areas, but was able to row through them. I went south and then west coming back up north around the islands. Some areas having many dead tree stubs, and it is not possible to row through them. In general, the park area is not maintained very well on route to boat launch, the walkway to the outhouse, and parking spots are fully of overgrowth.

Did a scout msn, more for trail/hunting in the future. Appears maintained and healthy marsh. Being late Nov. season long past for any human traffic. Signage everywhere on what, where, and how paid access works. I'm nott sure why a daily cost of $16 is levied to hunters, but anyways will at least give it a go and explore it once. Am a mbr of OFAH, which is mandatory for Hunting usage at Luther; liability based...should at least get a discounted price? See how it goes...am up for an adventure.
