It had been a long time since I was last at Calabogie Motosport. What a beautiful place. We attended for Guitars & Gasoline. We were warmly greeted by no one less than the owner at the front gate. He said he would escort us to our camping spot. Unfortunately, with many trailers ahead, we found our own way. On the racetrack! That was cool. Please not no glass bottles are allowed and they lookin your trailers and vehicle. Friends in front lost wine but washable to give up the glass bottles and pour into containers. That would have been good to know. The venue, WOW! The stage was set up in a natural amphitheater, so sound was amazing. The bands were phenomenal. My personal favorites of course Blue Rodeo, Theory of a Deadman, The Trews, Josh Ross, Owen Riegling and the up and coming Alexa Goldie. We had paid for Premium RV camping. We bought general admission. So for that type of camping and larger price, you get access to a comfort station, (toilet only) and closer to the general admission gate. We were in Zone 8. Zone 9...again premium camping mostly had a lot of stage view...we did not realize that so missed out. The maps provided are not useful in assisting in picking a camping spot. We were doubled up ( one in front of the other), luckily with friends...2 to a lot, so know this if you have an early check- out need. We were also behind an elevation. We would go general admission camping. The idea of going cashless did not work out well. Many bracelets did not work. The staff were all very helpful and honest in their responses to our issues and concerns. The "friendly" owner after speaking to him twice to ask why we didnt have easier access to the general admission gate advised us " well leave, I'll give you your money back." That did not leave us with a great feeling. All in all, realizing this was the first year, Congratulations! Job well done. It also will cost us more money, the boys are going back to check out races and the...
Read moreBIG CHANGES HAVE TO BE DONE!!! Right from the moment stepping onto property was treated poorly by staff due to having water in a water bottle absolutely unnecessary to be telling people they cannot bring water and coolers into a race. It is hot and it should be under a safety violation that these items cannot be brought in, especially for people with certain health issues. Limited and poor seating, Couldn’t hear what was going on in the race. There was no speakers to tell us even when the last lap was. These are some of the small things that could be changed to improve, but the biggest improvement needed is exit for the parking lot It was over a two hour wait there was people getting an alterations, causing fights due to lack of security and therefore people were hitting other people vehicles people need to realize there’s children walking and there’s no need to be acting like that and I swear the security should be main focused at the end of the event There was children walking and people were getting in altercations people are hitting each other with vehicles totally unnecessary. Need more security !!!! As someone that had children with them I fully recommend to leave them at home because it is not a safe environment and as far as I’m concerned, I will not...
Read moreHave to say we were quite disappointed. There is zero wheelchair accessibility here.
The track is geared towards the drivers and not spectators, which is fine. But some form of wheelchair viewing platform to actually see things would be amazing.
Even their elderly staff was having issues climbing all the stairs.
We had a tour of one of the owners car collections. Had I known who he was at the time I would have mentioned that any one of those cars could put an elevator in every building and a few wheelchair platforms.
Food there off the wagon is outrageous expensive for what you get. 12$ for a slider burger. 6$ for a small breakfast sandwich. Price gouging is to be expected at venues like this, however portion sizes are dismal.
The staff is friendly. We asked for help finding somewhere wheelchair friendly to park. They did their best. We had a spot where we could sit in the truck and see a very small part of final turn. They brought water and a hat which my son liked. But that doesn't excuse the lack of services.
We were supposed to stay for Saturday and Sunday races, but given the issues, we left a day early. Waste of 300$ on a motel and 8...
