We had a very bad experience renting a canoe. We were told by staff attending to the canoe rental that all canoes were out. We asked if any were coming in shortly and were told within next 30 to 40 minutes a couple rentals were due. We asked if we could fill out the forms and were told no because it's first come first serve basis. We let the attendant know we were waiting and were 20 feet away within her sight. We were paying attention as we wanted to rent one. We noticed people coming up to rent and they were allowed to prefill the forms eventhough we were denied. We approached the attendant to ask her why she was treating us differently. She just kept reoeating the first come first serve rule eventhough, clearly, she was treating other park patrons differently then us. We asked to speak to a supervisor and were told that one will arrive sometime but would not give us a time frame. My daughter went back to ask for contact information and agai asked for a supervisor to arrive. Instead a park ranger came to tell us not to approach the attendant eventhough we did not make any further attempt to do so as clearly she was not going to treat us fairly. Finally a supervisor arrived. I told Mr Dickson what happened we were told we made the attendant cry so we had to leave in 15 minutes. That was apparently the right response in his mind because I guess all you have to do is cry and lie and then you can freely duscriminate against minorities in that park. This will of course result in appropriate legal consequences. Mr Dickson it was so rude of you to put on your sunglasses everytime I tried to talk to you. Very kindergarden intimidation tactic. So rude...

Been going there for years only cause its close by..but not teally my fave.. the beach is filthy, garbage, dead birds, seagull feathers everywhere, not upkept..at all, the entrance fee is pricey considering i mentioned the beach is filthy, the service sucks..the girls at the gate when i pulled up on a couple different occasions just kept talking when i pulled up with my window down so they could see me..noone greeted me..i waited till finally i got putta my car and went up to the window and even then, they kept talking and when i said hello...the one girl closest to me slowly turned her head toward me and just looked at me...i said for one, she looked at me to check the vehicle for bodies..totally fine, and very unenthused told me the price...at that point i didnt even wanna give her my money but i was already there and looking forward to some me time.. the water is gross..the over grown weeds and clumps of seaweed floating throughout gets in your hair,no underwater swimming, the seaweed and rocks at the bottom i have to ALWAYS wear water shoes..most times id rather drive the extra 40 50 mins to a nicer beach jist to avoid...

Good beach at a drivable distance from gta. The place is quite big, the parking is enormous and it’s mostly sand instead of rocks. You can have a great time with your family here. We arrived at the place around 3PM and, despite it was very crowded, there was plenty of space at the beach. The water is pretty clear and very warm. There’s not that much of waves, so the water is pretty calm. You can rearm canoes for a price, you would need an ID and be +18 for renting. The important things: - the washrooms are VERY clean, even if there’s a lot of people in the park. - dogs are allowed with a leash - if you decide to go there on a weekend, be prepared, it’s PACKED with shelling kids and some loud music - I didn’t see anyone po0ping at the beach, so that’s nice

Great place for a family picnic or a peaceful getaway. People can be seen kayaking, fishing or just playing on the beach. The place is clean. There are benches, tables to eat. There is ample parking space. There are no life-guards, if someone is looking to swim in the lake. The far side shore of the lake has beautiful tree-line and one can see a church-like structure just along-side the dam (yes! there is one). Only let down were the filthy mobile toilets that have been placed there, as the (park-side) toilets were locked, I believe due to Covid 19. Also, my kids were expecting a play area but there was none. In all, a nice place! Just watch out for snooping seagulls😁
