It is a very below-average,Β unkept, run-down place. The kids play area is old, rusty 1980s equipment. They don't serve any food during the week, but also don't allow for any outside food. The petting zoo animals don't interact with you at all. You have to pay $5 for the basket that grocery stores & other PYO farms giveaway for free when you do PYO, on top of the weight of your pick, along with your admission fee. The tractor rides are completely hit or miss; you could wait for hours, even go in and ask for a driver and you never know if they'll come or not. Just a disorganized place that has no idea what they're doing. From accepting payment, to any form of communication, their food stands, to admittance, and their egg hunt was a complete disaster.
It is just "okay". There are far better options nearby, such as Springridge, Chudleighs, Downeys, and Erin Hills,Β to name just a few if you're looking for agritourism farm with a play yard. You can also do PYO without an admission fee at Hutchinson, and Downeys East (West is the play area) and many other farms on Walkers line.
Also, they have zero customer service skills. I cannot believe the way I was treated, all bc I had the audacity of trying to book a very expensive children's birthday party. The level of unprofessionalism, disorganization, sheer incompetence and their sense of entitlement was outstanding. They were disorganized about accepting payment and instead of apologizing and finding a solution, they treated me like garbage and somehow they were doing me a favor and I had to be accommodating of them? It was incredibly bizarre. The event planner told me to go in and pay to avoid an online processing fee and when I went in they were rude, rolled their eyes, snapping at me and downright refused to accept payment bc their event planner was absent. And they treated me this way while I was there with my 3 year old daughter.
Upon reading other reviews it would seem that there has been a management change-over and that the quality and customer satisfaction has gone down with the changeover. Like others say, don't trust the 5 star reviews, they're the new managements friends. They always seem to come in waves to bury the very many 1...
Β Β Β Read moreWe were really disappointed with our visit this year. We have been going to Andrew's for years and have never experienced anything like we did this year. There was no parking and we had to park quite a ways down the road. The admission price ($12/person) was a big increase from previous years and it was a long line to get in. Very overcrowded and no real way to social distance. The little haunted forest walk looked very run down and like it was stuff left over from last year and not touched this year. No tractor rides available and very difficult to find anyone to ask about it. We waited by a tractor for 20 minutes waiting to sign up for a time slot, only for someone to finally come over and kick everyone off the tractor that had been waiting because they didn't have reservation. The person then told me and everyone else that they were fully booked for the day but that a lot of people sign up at 9am for time slots later in the day but then go home. He said we could wait around to see if there were no shows but there was no guarantee. We ended up having to pick our pumpkins in the prepicked piles by the front instead of going to the actual patch. We then had to wait in a really, really long line up to pay. We watched multiple people walk out the entrance with pumpkins/flowers without paying or people abandoning their picked items and just leaving empty handed. Once you got inside the store you couldn't look around because you would then lose your spot in line. We saw a few people wandering around the store trying to figure out how to pay without having to get back in the line they just finished waiting in for 30-45 mins. We didn't even attempt the long line up for food. We heard other groups too saying "why did we pay $$$ to do nothing?" and believe others should be aware before going. It was all very unorganized and felt like a waste of money. Felt like we paid pick your own pumpkin prices for pumpkins we could have just picked up at the grocery store for much cheaper. We left very disappointed and talking about not visiting...
Β Β Β Read moreThis is both a working and entertainment farm with an entrance fee. They have tractor rides, petting zoo, playground, haybales, and picnic area. Itβs a great place to spend a day with the kids or pick your own produce. They offer a range of produce including berries, pumpkin, squash, asparagus, apples, flowers and more, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and size of product.
My family and I have been going to Andrewβs Farm for years. I especially love summer with a visit to pick berries and flowers. They have a good selection of flowers to choose from and large areas sectioned out for different types of fruit/berries. Take into consideration the season or prime picking time for each berry as they are different. Also keep in mind that it is beneficial to go at the beginning of the season to have your pick of the biggest, juiciest and best berries or produce.
The staff are friendly and helpful. They offer baskets for picking but I suggest you bring your own bags and/or baskets to take your pickings home. They have a store which sells some concessions along with locally grown and fresh made desserts, pies, jams, cookies, maple syrup, snacks and even a frozen food section with prepared meals and desserts. My favourite treats are the freshly made fudge, nanaimo bars and cookies. They also have a winery and storefront offering an assortment of wines including a selection of dessert wines.
They have washrooms onsite, but they are not wheelchair accessible. Also, access to and throughout the farm is not accessible as the terrain is uneven (but thatβs what you would expect when visiting a farm).
No wait times. No time limit. Parking available on site. Andrews Farm is a great place to enjoy some outdoor fun with the kids or make your own experience whether itβs picking your own berries or apples or visiting...
