Well it is a good place for any kind of winter activities specially now with frozen water and lots of nice powdery snow. Lots of place for hiking, cross country skiing and ice skating. They cleaning snow from parking lot pretty fast so there is no issues parking car. Getting really busy over the weekends.

One big disadvantage - parking fees. They have a parking meters with rates of 3$/hr which is quite pricey but somehow now they just standing at the entrance and charging everybody 10$. This is a lot! I like to do snow kiting at the Cootes and 2hrs is usually enough for me so I would really prefer to use meter instead of paying 10$ every time I enter...

Beautiful place to to go for different activities. The main path is paved, and there are bikes available for rent. The paved path stretches all the way to a different park, if you're willing to walk for about an hour 20 minutes. There are benches every 10-20 meters which look out onto the lake. Recently, I've also discovered other paths at this park, which can be hiked and lead to a scenic soccer field which is surrounded by trees and distant forested cliffs. I've seen many people kayaking on the water in the warmer months, and ice fishing and ice skating in the winter in...

Tranquil spot on the edge of Cootes Paradise nature preserve, bird-watchers dream spot. Trails connect to harbour and downtown's north end at Bayfront park, and to the west via royal botanical gardens maintained footpath trails to Westdale BIA and McMaster University. They do controlled burns here annually to simulate natural fires, to help native species over invasive plants. Beaver, coyotes, bald eagles are just some of the larger species who make their home in this area. Only drawback might be the traffic noise from highway #403 that invades all but the most...

Great place to park and go kayaking! The parking lot is NOT FREE. there is a pay station... 15$ for maximum time.... Which I will gladly pay again when I go back. Clean bathrooms! Super kept up parking place and grass area, the city definitely keeps this place nice and pretty. The kayaking was amazing as well. I have never seen so many swans and ducks and geese and beautiful birds in one place...... The water is a little dirty with 🐦 💩 but incredible either way. 100% recommended for finishing/hiking/kayaking/canoeing! And of course bird watching .

Great for a hike with family, dogs, couples, or alone. If you go later on at night you see lots of wildlife which is cool to observe. A place you could do yoga or meditate as well. Very peaceful place and never too busy. There is also another trail on the other side with a path which is good for strollers, roller blades, or bikes. You can also bring kayaks here and go float around. Also a good place to take pictures, professional or selfies. You can get some great shots. One of my favorite hiking/walking places in Hamilton.
