Well it is a good place for any kind of winter activities specially now with frozen water and lots of nice powdery snow. Lots of place for hiking, cross country skiing and ice skating. They cleaning snow from parking lot pretty fast so there is no issues parking car. Getting really busy over the weekends.
One big disadvantage - parking fees. They have a parking meters with rates of 3$/hr which is quite pricey but somehow now they just standing at the entrance and charging everybody 10$. This is a lot! I like to do snow kiting at the Cootes and 2hrs is usually enough for me so I would really prefer to use meter instead of paying 10$ every time I enter...
Read moreBeautiful place to to go for different activities. The main path is paved, and there are bikes available for rent. The paved path stretches all the way to a different park, if you're willing to walk for about an hour 20 minutes. There are benches every 10-20 meters which look out onto the lake. Recently, I've also discovered other paths at this park, which can be hiked and lead to a scenic soccer field which is surrounded by trees and distant forested cliffs.
