Waterworks Park — Attraction in Hamilton

a beautiful park with multi-uses for all ages. this should be the rule not the exception with the parks in the city. there is not a heck of a lot for teenagers to do in this city and as we all know, idle hands are the devil's playground. this park has a wonderful bike park brought by the rotary club. it is well maintained and the bike club is there pretty well every weekend it's open to offer help to novice to pro. there are also walking trails and green space and ample parking. so there is something...

One of our 'go tos' for a short or long walk. Multiple trails mean you can take a short hike or long. Wilderness style trail not a rail trail....though a paved path runs though the middle starting at Wilkes Dam. Mostly hikers, cyclists ....the odd time a dirt bike. People do not always keep their dogs on a leash.....or clean up after them. :( There are paths that go near the River and you often see people fishing. SQUARE SILO built by Thomas and Hartley Berry in 1903. Stone was taken from the nearby Grand River bed and used to build these very unique square silos. There is one at Waterworks Park (Lew Witton Fields) and one down on the west side of Birkett Lane. Only two square silos in Brantford. I have never seen one anywhere else. A must see to check out!
