Meticulously curated products made ethically. Without putting down other hard workers in the mead space, Old Station is in a league of their own when it comes to harvesting and presenting the ingredients that go into their bottles. From dry-as-bones ferments to fruity spritzers, each product showcases the agricultural backgrounds of the farmers who make the product. Expect fresh, novel flavours with a level of balance not often seen in brewed honey. And when you (inevitably) take some home, you can feel even better knowing you’re supporting the land and families that honour it.

5 Star Mead with 6 Star hospitality. I waltzed in at 4pm on Sunday, shortly before shutting down. Nevertheless, the owner immediately took me in, gave me a tour of the facility, a full tasting - including a brand new one right out of the vat, and explain their future plans for expansion. I bought a bottle of the Saskatoon Berry Mead. I’m excited to revisit and see how the place has evolved!

I’ve been following along their journey since they started out. Today I was finally able to pay them a visit. Take a nice short day trip from Edmonton, taste a flight of mead, buy a bottle or two, and meet Will, the wonderful owner with a genuine love for mead. If you are interested in supporting local businesses, this is a place to visit.

When New Serepta built it's new firehall, the old station was up for grabs. And thus, a classic Alberta meadery was born.

Old Station Honey and Mead sells honey and mead. The honey is lovely Alberta mukti-flower honey, but the mead is something special.

The drinks (best tasted in a flight on the patio) are clear and distinct. The sparkling meads are excellent for a crisp refreshing tipple, or for dessert. The Barb (rhubarb) and raspberry sparkling meads are an effervescent delight.

A heavier traditional mead is also on offer, but most bottles are much more like typical wines.

A hobbyist apiary had too much honey and began making mead. And we all benefit from the efforts of him and his bees.

It's worth the short country drive to experience the drinks in the genuine rustic charm of small...

They are doing their own thing out there and doing it well. They have enough of a variety that there really is something for every palate. I recommend the flights. You can try four different meads for $10. Take the one you like with you for later. Whether by the bottle or by the case.

They just opened the patio. There's no better place to be on a warm summer day than on a patio sipping mead. I didn't believe it until I tried it. I didn't even know that I liked mead until I visited this place.

There's something very genuine and authentic about the friendly staff/owners. They love to talk about mead, honey, Saskatoon berries or really...
