A small park. Some sites have a decent amount of privacy (usually the non-electric sites) and some sites are right on top of each other (the electric sites on the peninsula). Water available only at spigots spread through the park. Vaults handy but you know, they're vaults. The comfort stations are reasonably clean. Your experience with bugs will depend on when you visit. After labour day, the bugs are almost completely gone, and walking the trails and through the park is very enjoyable. Lookout trail was listed as strenuous. Walking at night, there are no streetlights, so a powerful flashlight is recommended. Electric sites' power stands were pretty close to where you would want to camp. Some of the approach roads to campsites are pretty steep, so backing in a trailer would be a challenge. The only real issue I have with Lake St. Peter is the same issue I have with the entire Ontario Parks system: people booking sites and then not showing up, or cancelling at the last minute. We looked months in advance for electric sites, and nothing was available. I had an alert on my phone, and nothing came up. We show up, take our non-electric site, and not only are there tons of non-electric sites available on Saturday morning, but there are a few electric sites in prime areas, totally empty. The parks reservation system needs to ban people who habitually book and then don't show up or cancel at the last minute and only get charged 10 or 20%. ...

Our campsite was spacious and well-shaded, providing a nice balance of privacy and proximity to the amenities. The lake itself is stunning – calm, clear water that’s perfect for swimming, kayaking, or just relaxing by the shore. We spent hours paddling on the lake, and the peaceful atmosphere made it so enjoyable.
The hiking trails in the park were another highlight. They offered scenic views and were manageable for all skill levels. We especially loved walking through the forest in the early morning – it was so quiet and serene.
