I GO JUST TO FISH FOR THE PRIZED KOKANEE, IF KOKANEE WERE PLENTIFUL AT OTHER LAKES CLOSE BY. I WOULD GO THERE IMMEDIATELY !!! THESE "HIGH POWERED ENGINES" WATER SKI BOATS AND THERE TUBERS AND WATER SKIERS DESTROY THE LAKE FOR SMALL FISHING BOATS. THE SADDEST PART IS, ALL THIS HEAVY WATER SKIING ACTION TAKES PLACE AT THE BEST PEAK TIME FOR FISHING , JULY AND AUGUST. I BELIEVE SOMEONE IN CITY HALL LIVES ON THE LAKE WITH A HIGH POWERED JET BOAT. AND NO RESTRITIONS WILL EVER BE PUT IN PLACE. EVEN JUST CAPPING THE SIZE MOTOR TO 10 HP WOULD SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS FOR FISHERMAN, PADDLERS, CANOERS, KAYAKERS. NO ONE AT HOPE CITY HALL SEEMS TO CARE LESS ABOUT SAFETY. I BELIEVE ALL PAID OFF $$$ . BIG FACTS !!! 5 STARS FOR FISHING, 1 STAR...

Beautiful Lake, and a great fishery! The only downside is the obnoxious and mean home owners and locals in the area that believe they own all rights to the lake. So now my fishing is mostly early morning for the summer. but this is not an issue before the hot summer months. Is it not illegal to interfere with anglers or hunters?? The locals really are not nice to fishermen. (And I do not say that about all the locals) If you go fishing here for a hot summer day on the water you will see who doesn't like you there as they will Skii/wakeboard RIGHT BESIDE your boat.. and if you in something small it will make for a bad time bouncing...

The washrooms haven't been cleaned in over a month, the beach itself was tiny and incredibly crowded, and the water is also fairly murky and dirty looking. Genuinely shocked at the high rating this lake has. Maybe there are other public beaches and I just went to the nasty one, but I'd honestly just drive the 45 minutes to Cultus Lake and have a nice time there. The beach I visited at Kawkawa lake was the worst I've ever been to in...

A hidden gem just outside Hope! Kawkawa Lake is a beautiful spot with crystal-clear waters framed by forested mountains. The swimming beach, grassy play area, boat launch, and picnic tables make it perfect for a relaxed family day out or fishing afternoon. We loved how warm the water felt in summer and the mix of peaceful coves and activity around the small dock. Great for a quick getaway or part of a trip to the nearby Othello Tunnels.

We happened to stop by this lake on our way back from the Othello Tunnels, and it was a pleasant surprise. Parking is reasonably priced, and the water isn't too deep, which makes it great for non-swimmers to enjoy safely. The only downside is the steep path down to the lake — it’s manageable going down but can be a bit of a challenge climbing back up. Still, a great lake spot to relax and cool off during the summer!

Beautiful, private-feeling spot that’s perfect for a family picnic, with absolutely stunning views. The lake has a sandy beach and a nice area where people can swim or even dive into the water. There are clean, well-maintained washrooms and a great play area for kids. Parking can be a bit tricky since it’s in a residential neighborhood, but it’s well worth the effort to spend a relaxing day here.
