My recent visit to Point Clark Beach in Goderich, Ontario, during the winter months was an unforgettable experience. I was initially unsure of what to expect at a beach during this time of year, but I was completely blown away by the sheer beauty of the ice formations and the serene atmosphere that enveloped the area.
The majestic ice formations on Lake Huron were a sight to behold, resembling mesmerizing natural sculptures. The blend of blues, whites, and subtle grays in the ice created a breathtaking, almost otherworldly landscape that I couldn't help but admire. The stillness of the lake, combined with the crisp winter air, provided a soothing and peaceful backdrop for a leisurely stroll along the shoreline.
Point Clark Beach itself was well-maintained, even in the winter months, allowing for safe exploration and enjoyment of the frozen surroundings. The tranquility and solitude of the beach during this time of year offered a unique opportunity for reflection and relaxation away from the typical summer crowds.
If you're looking for a winter escape that combines the beauty of nature with a serene atmosphere, I highly recommend a visit to Point Clark Beach in Goderich, Ontario. The enchanting ice formations and peaceful surroundings create a one-of-a-kind experience that you'll surely cherish. Five stars for this unforgettable winter...

At arrival, the beach was sparsely populated and by 5PM there was a moderate amount of people. Washrooms are clean and attractive. There is washed up debris -mostly sticks and pebbles- on the shore, recommend wearing some sort of protection on your feet. The water is brisk, but not too uncomfortable to swim in. Later on, winds made the water a little rougher.
Able to find two picnic tables in the grassy area by the Lighthouse and was able to fire up the BBQ there. Walked to nearby ice cream shop - recommend bringing your own tall cups (i had one of those dollar store wide red plastic cups) as the small ones they provide have the ice cream dripping over your hands by the time you reach back to the beach. Also, there is not a lot of shade options, so make sure to bring your own!
All in all, you won't regret coming here! The people are sooo nice, like stereotypically Canadian nice. The cottages look cozy and scenic with its back patio furniture facing the Lake. People brought their speedboats and kayaks, there is a volleyball net on the sand and a jungle gym for kids nearby. As long as you clean up after yourself, you won't have any...

Mostly unshaded, the beach extends for almost a kilometer away from the parking lot. Water is a little murky near the boat launch due to weeds, silt and other organic matter settling in the calmer water, but it is clearer down the beach. Parking lot holds about 25 vehicles. 2 beach volleyball courts near the parking lot, a small playground, benches and some picnic tables are available. Washrooms were clean and well stocked while we were there. There is a foot washing tap on the outside of the bathroom building. No food close by... a 15 minute drive to Kincardine will give you abundant selection. If you bring a lunch, there are limited trash facilities that are easily overwhelmed, so consider packing out what you bring in. Overall, a very pleasant place to spend a few hours...
