EXTREMELY. The climb up and back the mountain took us 4 hours, but it isn't up to the top and without making a loop➰. The first part of the trail is easy and pleasant. Mountain landscapes with a valley view open up to tourists (this view reminded me of the Crimean Mountains), some sections of the trail are rocky (on the way back on these stones I fell 2 times). After an hour and a half of the journey, the most extreme begins: a steep uphill climb. There is no path here - I was just walking on granite slabs. The was a constant fear in my head that I might step on some slab that wouldn't support my weight, and I would swing down with the stones🪨. Of course, these are only concerns, because if it were possible, it would happen one day, and visiting the mountain would be prohibited. We went on a trip along the Gros Morne Mountain Trail quite late (4 p.m.), so we couldn't make loop. The physical load is just extreme! Forces are at the limit. But it's worth it!!! The higher we climbed the mountain, the more spectacular the view became!!! The descent from the mountain was no less terrible than the ascent. When I stepped on the stone partially, then with the full transfer of the foot there was a feeling that the foot could crack in half (I need to think urgently about buying reliable shoes🥾!!!). There is another difficulty in descending. Since there is no definite path, you will have to descend in an arbitrary place at the foot of the mountain. Some tourists lost their backpack🎒 like that, taking it off because of weight and hoping that they would pick it up on the way back. Of course, I have plans to return to the Gros Morne National Park and complete a full eight -hour loop at the top. Because I cosider the Gros Morne Mountain Trail not only the national park pearl, but also the whole...

A very rewarding hike but it is easily an eight-hour height for most people and during that 8 hours it is intense physical activity. The ascent is quite difficult as it is a scramble up a loose shale Mountainside almost straight up. but the decent is significantly harder to do in my opinion there are no flat surfaces to land your feet on it is all rocks and better than the trail that you must navigate down it takes a much longer time to get down off the mountain than it does to ascend to the top. make sure to bring a significant amount of water as it can be extremely hot at the top and there are no natural water sources. Do not even think about attempting this hike in the rain or if there is even a chance of rain it is difficult enough to do without twisting an ankle when it is dry if it is wet and slippery this will turn from a grueling hike into one that is just not fun at all. caribou and moose can be seen during the hike at the top and on the sides of the mountain. Strongly recommend bringing hiking poles gloves and ankle high boots and cannot stress enough to bring at least a minimum of 2 L of water per person if not 4 if it is hot. This is not a hike to bring children on or anyone with a medical condition of any kind that can be exacerbated by strenuous activity if you have any sort of an injury do not...

I think I posted the review if this one to another place. Never mind. Just wanted other people to be prepared well when planning this trip. Three most important things: 1. Bring enough water. Try 2 liters per person at least. If not enough space, bring less food but not less water. Water is the most important things you have to prepare.2. Wear a sturdy footwear, not the normal sneakers for you walking or running on the city road. This trail is very very Rocky and pointy. 3. Bring bug spray. There are lots of deer flies when you're climbing the hardest portion. These flies follow you along and you cannot do anything as you almost use up all of your energy.they are not just annoying. They can cut through tough skin and feed by your blood. I knew that as I found lots of my blood in my ear and dead flies I clapped. I even see the litter cut they caused in my ear. So please use some bug spray even there are not mosquitoes. The flies also can...

Oh man it was tough, but a good exercise. The view is undoubtedly wonderful, but you only get 3-4 of them for the whole 18km rocky trip. So don't go there just for the views it's probably not worth it. It's more like 70% for "conquering the mountain" + 30% for the view. I started at 1pm and got down by 8pm. The steep ascend was tough yet I found it enjoyable (taking quite a few resting spot of course). The top was fun and got some good views. The part I enjoyed less was the descent. It was very long and full of edgy rocks which hurt my feet (I need to look for a stronger hiking boots after). Tips: 1. Bring a lot lot of snacks and lot lot of water (i finished my 3L on a not so hot day). 2. Bring a windbreaker for the mountain top. 3. Look at the weather forecast, if you can micromanage, plan it so that when you get to the top it's all sunny Probably a 4.5* due to the unenjoyable descent I'll round that to a 5*.

Climb to the top of Gros Morne Mountain, I completed this trail last summer and I have to say this is an extremely difficult trail, and I don’t advise new hand to try, especially the last 1km to the top. Start climb from elevation almost sea level, and climb 800m upward in 5km trail, the first 4km rise approximately 300m, and the last 1km will rise totally 500m! Furthermore, the last 1km you must climb on broken rocks, looks like a landslide happened before, and lots of broken rocks all the way on the hill, and we need to climb on those rocks. I spend 5 hours to climb and return from same route, normally people always take a loop which go down from other side, which is farther! I once climbed many mountains, and the only mountain that I think have same difficulty with this one is Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spain. So to sum up, I don’t advise any new hand to try to climb this mountain, safety first.
