We had our wedding ceremony at Privato, and we could not recommend it more! The venue is beautiful, with lush gardens of flowers, beautiful buildings, trees, and more. The staff were easy to work with and quick to respond to emails! They had a room that we used to get into our dresses and a space away from the ceremony/guest location for my husband and I to have a private ā€œfirst lookā€ and exchange personal vows. All of our photos turned out so beautiful, and it is mostly thanks to this incredible venue! They allowed us to stay in the gardens after our ceremony to take photos with family and the wedding party. They even let our 2 dogs be a part of the ceremony and photos! Privato provided wine barrels for us to use as/for decorations, and they closed the garden area to the public for the entire day on our wedding day. We were allowed to have a full rehearsal and set up our chairs, archway, and decorations the day before. We also dropped our artificial bouquets and all dresses off to hang up in the locked room that day, which took a huge stress off our shoulders for the wedding day! So many guests complimented the venue and couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was. I have included some photos from the day at Privato. We would highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a wedding venue!

Excellent winery. A green oasis amid the dry hillsides. We arrived mid-afternoon on a 100⁰F Friday and it was busy in the tasting room but mostly quiet outside and pleasantly cool in the shade of the trees with our dogs. We enjoyed 2 tasting menus and a picnic basket charcuterie tray. Candace and team looked after us and answered our questions. Worth the drive! Be careful with Google Maps directions when driving South along Highway 5. Don't take the Westsyde Road exit as Google may misdirect. Stay on 5 and take the McLure Ferry Road.

My daughter & I spent Mother’s Day at the winery with the package that included a bottle of Rose, a lovely foot massage & a beautiful picnic lunch. What a fantastic idea, it was perfect in every way. We were warmly greeted by Shauna who outlined the days events. Ashley as well made sure we were enjoying ourselves and checked in to see if we needed anything during our stay. He was very personable and showed a genuine interest in making sure everything was first class. It was a great day!

While on the road in July 2023 when headed from Clearwater to Sun Peaks, in looking for a winery to have lunch at, we called Privato to ask about a lunch reservation and if they could accommodate us. We called ahead as getting to the venue required quite a detour via a ferry crossing of the river, so we thought we would only take the detour if they had lunch available. The person taking our call asked how many were coming for lunch, and we said only two, to which she said, "yes, we will for sure fit you in". After waiting 20 minutes at the river ferry - we arrived at the crossing during the operator's lunch break and he sat on a chair watching us until 1 pm when his lunch break was over - we eagerly headed to the winery as we were now hungry. On arrival, imagine our surprise when asking an employee where the restaurant was, only to be told "we haven't had a restaurant for over a year as we do not have a chef"! When saying that we had especially called ahead to make a reservation, she said she had no idea who would have told us that, and we could get a prepacked picnic at the wine tasting venue. Now really starving we were offered either a prepacked ham and pork filled meat option, or a prepacked cheese and crackers option, with no other options provided. Not wanting those for lunch, there was nothing else available. We then left, pretty pee'd off given the detour we took to get there, that we called ahead and were lied to, and then to find no other lunch options anywhere nearby. All in all a huge waste of time and extra travel distance for nothing. Will we ever go back?...

Lovely property and lovely wines, but quite disappointing tasting experience. make reservations. Even with reservations, they were running a behind. I assume the person who took us in does not usually do tastings. Not at all friendly or knowledgeable. Briskly explained the two options for tastings. I explained I prefer reds, but was offered no red option (although according to the menu online, there was one available). She poorly explained (ie Didn't explain) the difference between the two options she presented and had no insight as to which would be better for someone who generally prefers reds but is open to sweeter whites. We blindly chose option 1, and she poured the first taste with few details and didn't pause to ask for questions before disappearing. Happily, the person who took over next was much more knowledgeable and it started to feel like a proper tasting experience. I wish someone explained the charcuterie availability or picnic options, but the second your last taste is poured you feel rushed out since there is only room for two small groups at the bar. This was my first wine tasting here in Kamloops, I don't see a reason to go back. Just buy the wines at the store. They're all lovely and you can't go wrong. Otherwise, the tasting experience will leave you a bit sour on this particular winery, especially with so many more welcoming options in the nearby...
