Just spent Canada Day long weekend camping at Emily PP, have been here a few times, not too far north a drive, and you’re in a beautiful part of Ontario on the Trent Severn waterway about 30minutes from Peterborough. As a park it’s well looked after and clean, the staff are very friendly and drive by often. The camp store is small, but they have great ice cream at a reasonable price, the beach located by the store is often closed due to high bacteria, the campers beach is very weedy so not great to swim in, they do rent out canoes though if you want to check out Pigeon lake. If you have a travel trailer, this park has the best fresh water fills available and separate pump out stations, so line ups are not a problem. The trails are very small and the Marsh one is closed so a short road trip to Emily Tract outside the park is required. Great park, just loses points for lack of trails, & poor swimming conditions… And Algonquin park exists! I keep coming back though

We had a great experience at Emily park. I think it definitely depends on what type of camping you're looking for. We could hear a lot of other people but the wardens must have done a good job as they mostly quieted down shortly after 11. The beach was well kept and raked each morning. It is a very weedy beach but that didn't bother us. The bathrooms could have been cleaner. Garbage was often overflowing and the toilet paper was gone a couple times during our stay. Our site however was lovely and well treed. There was wooded sections for the kids to explore which they really enjoyed. Overall it was a great park with friendly staff.

We stayed over the weekend of July 26th at site 141 in the Hill campground. The site: there was nice shade over our tent throughout the day as we situated ourselves under the trees. The site was slanted, and therefore so were we, but only slightly. We could see the beach entrance from our site which was a bonus. We saw the Warden twice during our 2 days, once through the campground, and once at the beach. There was very little privacy. Most sites around us didn't have any, either. The bathrooms were a quick walk. They were (mostly) clean - the TP is so thin it's impossible to get any without it ripping apart, so bring your own! At night the people around us were loud, with music and conversation which could be heard over our sound machine that was full blast. Our kids didn't seem to notice, but if you're a light sleeper like me - best of luck! I heard the Wardens come around at night, so most of the noise stopped around 12am.

The beach/water: the campers beach is small, but well taken care of. The sand was shifted every morning. The water was decently warm and mostly weed-free. I was pleasantly surprised after reading some previous reviews... ignore the comments complaining of weeds. Fishing was great for the kids, which we did off the dock by the beach. The beach did get very busy, which was okay expect for those with little common sense. We had people playing volleyball so close to us that it hit our party once and one of our children second. Many people brought boards and large floaters which really starts to limit the small water space.

The takeaway: a nice park with enough to do with young kids, a clean beach, little shop, and a playground. Wardens are pretty on top of things. If you stay at Emily park you'll appreciate the staff...

Perhaps could have been 4 stars however the experience on my weekend is what i am referring to. Camped there site 126 between July 10 to 13. Showers are closed due to covid pandemic. This can be a bit annoying but understanding. I realize they are currently closed at all parks. Maximum 2 person capacity at a time for using washroom due to pandemic. Forbidden to do campfires entirely. No open flame fires allowed as its been dry and the camp does not want to take responsibility for causing a fire . My 3 nights there we had plenty of rain so we were stuck in hiding alot of the time. Grounds are fairly well kept however one thing i was super disappointed without any advanced warning was main beach was closed. They had a second part of the lake but was advised not to swim there as water was not tested and it looked like it was dirty. You can see and smell duck and geese feces. It's everywhere. No beach area. It's a little grass, then mud, then water. Park store was always closed before normal closing time. My friend got an eye infection and we think its from being in the water. Understand it was swim at your own risk. The ranger that mainly drove around at night was super friendly and kind and genuinely nice about helping us find a clinic and pharmacy for my friend. He was super handsome too. Shout out to him. I wish i knew his name. Light hair and light eyes. Thank you to him for being so kind and helpful and following up on us later in the evening. Washrooms were well kept clean. I think overall we took a bad weekend situation. The park is pretty nice. Our site was on a slope but thankfully on the top part so when it rained it rolled down. I could have given them 4 stars however the beach situation and look was a...

One star for Emily PP! We are not satisfied about their rules.

Two days ago we went to this park, we are a group of seven families stayed at Circle Campground, planned our gathering a long time ago, at least two nights and three days enough for us to have bond again after so many years that we haven't seen each other. Our stay is not as what we have expected. Disappointment is what we all feel during those times. We were surprised and shocked on our first night in the middle of our happy times we were interrupted by the so called security been told to tone down, minimize kids voices, neighbours are complaining? Kids are kids they are so lovely of course they yell but their voices are normal we can't do anything about it.

Admitted, that maybe it's already late at night so we have to stop and decided to continue on day time. Then, next day and it's day time, despite following their rules, the security dropped by again and said we need to tone down neighbours are still complaining? So, what kind of rules did you have that you only listen to one person compared to us group of seven families that only making our times memorable? It's not fair! We spent lots of money just to feel this way? Money is everything so we have to spend it wisely and we thought we could have a great time visiting this park but it's only the opposite.

By the way our campsites are so muddy and also the Lake have so much Lilies unpleasant to look at, not a good place for swimming. NOT ANYMORE AND NOT...
