Kearney Dog Sled Races — Attraction in Kearney

Having the opportunity to be involved in this event is magical. I am amazed on how organized and smoothly this weekend is. It shows how much time, work and effort that goes into it. The people involved are so friendly, the food is delicious, it's great to see the dogs and mushers and the town clearly shows how proud they are. Kearney is a Diamond in the Rough, and only a short jaunt from Toronto. This event is on my calendar and will be for as long as it continues. I am so very impressed that there even was a race this year, considering the horrible winter that we had, but the crew pulled it off. It was my first year ever attending Kearney Sled Dog Races. I had never previously been to a sled race before. The entire community of Kearney is so caring and supportive along with alm the mushers and anyone there really. Although this year was a bad year for snow they made it happen. The race course itself is extremely challenging for anyone who lives in a flat area. I suggest you practice lots of hills lol. But my 2 girls and the boy a borrowed dog did great.
