Pros: . Each camping site space is big, with trees around, good privacy and shade. . there were small washrooms near by and big washroom with shower also not too far. They were decent clean. . There were trails (one car lane wide) around the camping sites and very good condition. . No much mosquito. . Could fishing on the marina dock of Greenwater lake . Marean lake is nearby. drive 15-20 minutes to the west side of the lake, there's a beach, although it's private property(Resort), but allowed public to stay; or drive from Camping site passing golf club to the south side of the lake, there's trial head and boat launch dock. Dog could play in water and we could fish on dock or shore. Marean Lake was clean and clear. . both lakes were calm which good for paddle board and fishing.
Cons: . Greenwater Lake was greenish, dirty, include beach and marina. Local said it was very clear two years ago. The inner lake is still good. . no phone signal(or bad connection) at camping sites, I only could find signal at Marean Lake...
Read moreThe campsite was good...although the poplar trees were losing sap from the leaves...came down like rain, so needed to wash camper and vehicle. The water is green...swimmer's itch notice on the poster...the beach is small and congested. The amount of high speed boats on this small lake is terrible. We rented a canoe and it's almost dangerous to be out on the lake. One canoe actually took on water in the hour we had it. We did enjoy the ice cream...at least that was good and reasonable price. The worst experience we had was going for a round of mini golf...the place is a disaster, screws and nails showing through boards, last year's fallen leaves everywhere, ripped carpet, sagging greens and empty beer cans on the course. The perimeter fence is a mess, half falling over half destroyed. A nightmare of a place. The bathroom and shower facility in the campground was sufficient. Overall, we won't be going back, as it doesn't meet our...
Read moreOur "go to" camping and boating destination. Have utilized Lakeshore and Hilltop campgrounds, both well treed and gives you the feeling of privacy. They also have electricity. This yr, 2016 we lucked out in booking our sites at the 2 yrs old Poplar Ridge campgrounds. The all have full hookups and although the trees are immature for the most part, the sites are strategically arranged so that they are not directly across from each other. Some of the sites are very sparce tree wise. So beware prior to booking, make sure you LOOK at the site photos. A few are actually soo fully open they are similar to a KOA treeless site. Of course the park staff are as good as you can find. Claudette in the park office, the booking guru can assist you with anything that may come up or are least will try I submitted 1 complaint Re the overflowing garbage containers, it was quickly resolved by the park superintendent Jason. He has since had an additional...
