Just spent 8 days in Lime Kiln campground Site 136. This electric campsite is pretty level, semi-private, close access to everything except the electric hookup which took us about 80 feet of line to connect with. Otherwise, nothing but praise.

The front entrance gate was staffed and accessible from about 8:30 a.m.'ish until early evenings ... and later on "rush Friday evenings" when the weekend campers show up. The Park's patrol car came around at least once every evening that we were there and for the most part, people were respectful of the noise they generated and of their barking pets (with a few annoying exceptions).

The park roads and trails are well maintained and generally trash free except for a couple of places where we discovered, collected and disposed of some discarded water bottles and snack wrappers. Having the large recycle bins in a totally separate area doesn't make sense ... probably a cost saving decision.

The large, well equipped comfort station washrooms were very, very clean and regularly attended to. Kudos to the staff that worked hard to keep them this way. What a difference as compared to another P.P. we recently visited which was a real pigsty.

Inverhuron is a great camping park, well managed and a pleasure to spend time at. The sunsets can't be beat and the surroundings and trails are awesome. Great job Team Inverhuron for making our camping vacation break a great one!

HERE'S SOME FEEDBACK FOR THE BUREAUCRATS RUNNING OUR PROVINCIAL PARK SYSTEM: It is unfortunate that due to the change in policies regarding advance reservations, campers no longer having to be physically on-site, the front gate no longer has "held back" sites available for transient campers etc. witnessed by the fact that only about 30% of the campsites were occupied leading up to Thanksgiving weekend.

This was despite us being told the park was 100% booked up. We were informed that people book a block of dates and then pick and choose whether they want to come or not. We took a chance and were lucky to "grab" a site that had just become available (been released on-line). We were told it was the only available site in the entire park. These silly booking loopholes must be closed.

These nonsensical policies must be reviewed and changed to allow the avid campers who want to be there, a real chance to secure a spot and enjoy Ontario provincial parks'...

We had an electrical site for a 25' TT. The trees could have been a bit more trimmed to leave the RVs undamaged from scrapes but otherwise the site was perfect. The ground was all gravel which was great for leveling but not comfortable for our dog. We had mats though and made due. It was beyond peaceful for the first week of September and we weren't bothered by flying critters. Signage to the trails could have been a bit better or maybe we could be better map readers. πŸ€” The beach is wide and compact sand, typical of Lake Huron with big dunes. We saw the dog area which looked big but didn't use it. Definitely plan to visit the cemetary rich with history. It's a place to take bikes with so many places to explore. The water fill area and dump site were great. Separate but close to each other. The vault toilets were cleaned at 9am each day and kept very clean. They are well planned out in the sites. The shower was clean and water warm. The disabled shower was very accessible with the toilet and shower all in one. There was only 2 showers at our comfort station a regular and disabled. The Bruce Nuclear Power Plant was on the road coming in and you can see it from the beach. If you haven't been there book a tour in advance. We definitely recommend Inverhuron. Note: Firewood was $8.00 on the road and $10.00 at the campground for a very small bag. They only want local wood to prevent disease...

Recently spent 4 nights at Inverhuron PP in the Gunn Point campground portion of the park. Must say this is one of the better provincial parks I've been to. Anything along Lake Huron is beautiful. The waters are turquoise blue, clean and refreshing. Sandy beach area with a boat launch beside main portion of beach. There's a dog area portion of the beach where all woofs are welcome to roam free. There's so much to do at this park and the staff does a great job at the up keep and cleanliness. Walk, hike, bike or swim. There's a trail called Chain Trail that goes around the perimeter of the park (about 5km and great for trail riding) then the Waterfront Trail isn't too far just outside the park entrance that goes along the waterfront into the town of Kincardine and beyond. Facilities are clean and well looked after. Campsites are all gravel base with good privacy from neighbours. Lots of smaller wooded sites and pull throughs for larger RV's. Highly recommend making sure you bring a long extension cord for your trailer or RV. I saw a few sites where the cord ran quite a distance from the camp site to the hookup. The PP website does a good job of explaining the distance from camp site to hookup. Other than that I hope my pictures explain how beautiful this park is.
