We love coming to Hirtles. The washrooms are clean which is always a good thing. The beach itself, when the tide is in, is solid rocks. When the tide is out, you have to make your way across the rocks to get to the sand. However, the scenery is breath taking and you almost always have incredible waves and pounding surf. It's often a bit foggy but that just adds to the atmosphere. There are also 2 ponds, one on either side of the parking lot. Nearby is the beautiful, very old, fishing village...

Hirtle's Beach is also known as the secret beach. Parking space is compact where you will find 2 public washrooms near the parking. One ice cream shop opened from 10 AM-5 PM. At the starting point of the tracking, you will find a map follow the track after 10-15 mins there will be a right-hand cut take the route that will lead to you a portion of the beach known as secret beach. There you will find a rope take the help of it...

A lovely long beach. Great for long beach walks. A bit rocky getting to it, but there is also a lovely boardwalk. Part way down there is a place where there is a quieter beach going into a bay. So two beaches back to back. Was not too busy at all despite the parking lot being full because it is such a long beach. It has a bathroom but only saw one. Did not use it so unsure if it is toilet or outhouse. Looked clean We...

This is a decent & free car park very close to the beach, with a gravel surface. You cannot camp or stay here overnight. Also the car park to use for the Gaff Point Trail (see my review of that separately). There are rubbish & recycling bins as well as two toilets - these are "long drop" style with no running water in either of the toilet huts.

Good for waves and sand, not a lot of parking but even when the parking lot is packed there is a TON of room on this beach for everybody. Some rocky parts but mostly sand. I will also say it's usually 5-7 degrees cooler than in the city (Halifax) so great for cooling off during those high humidex 30s. No bathrooms (woods tho! Ha!)
