Giant Spruce Park — Attraction in Kitimat

I Love going here. A trail to "the giant spruce" and other trails nearby. I go through out the year often. Always beautiful. The last time I went I got stuck driving the road lol but it was a fun time out. Be wary if going in the winter that getting stuck is a reality. Over the years I have had to get out twice now myself and have helped others. It happens, just make sure you either have recovery gear or know someone who can help you. I wouldn't drive more then a few minutes for this attraction. That said I did drive 18 hours only to have our original plan fall through so we basically drove 18 hours to check out this tree.

If your in Kitimat and Like nature, then is a spot to check out. The ecology of this region is something amazing. Rainforest meets Mountains meets tundra. This is a BIG tree as well. This is an incredible forest with some beautiful tress. The giant spruce tree has started to fall apart over time so don't be disappointed if it's not as tall as expected. It is a bit sad seeing a giant fall but there are some other younger ones who are growing up nicely. This forest reminds me of a mini Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island.
