Onhwa' Lumina was such a spectacular place! This is our 3rd Lumina experience. All are completely different from each other. So I will start off by saying the negatives. There are 2 parking lots, one is paved and one is not. They are very dimmly lit, which felt a bit dangerous. There is something about the main area that isn't as inviting as the other locations we have been to. I can't quite put my finger on it. The 3rd thing was more at the parents and obviously nothing to do with Onwha'. But while yes this is for families and it is so great seeing all the kids out getting to experience this amazing place. It felt so distracting with the kids running between us, running into us , yelling and screaming the whole entire time. We tried our best to sort of stay back, just so we could hear the messages, the music ect. But that didn't always work. Again, I know kids will be kids. But my kids would know this isn't a playground and others are wanting to enjoy. There were other kids definitely who were very well behaved, and I loved watching the little ones dancing and being totally in awe of the lights, music and sound. But this large group ahead of us, were not and a few others. And the parents just let them run. We absolutely did love the seating with the fire pits. Upon entry. The other locations you don't experience this until the end.. I always said that would be nice to chill at while you wait to get in. The paths, music and lights for this are absolutely beautiful! We loved the colors, they were all so magical. The endless gathering areas, and fire pits are great. As they said, life is a circle and thus brought many together. We loved how they bring cultural learning to a new level, so we can all appreciate it. The trails are very easy to walk, and there were people in wheelchairs, kids in strollers and wagons. It was nice to see, as all the other locations we went to were not wheelchair or walker friendly. The whole thing took about a to get through. There is a very small gift shop on the way out, with snacks, and Onwha labeled items. We hope to return on out next trip to Quebec. This place is definitely a must see! You will feel like...
Read moreThe Onhwa’ Lumina experience is visually breathtaking. The lighting design, soundscape, and storytelling are masterfully executed, creating a moving tribute to Wendat heritage. As I walked the trail, I was genuinely captivated by the immersive atmosphere and the beauty of the show itself.
However, the magic was often interrupted by the reality of the site. At one point, I came across a large spotlight and expected it to illuminate an exhibit—only to find it highlighting a condo tower under construction. The juxtaposition of ancestral storytelling with active development felt jarring and out of place. Apartment buildings surround the area, and the reserve seems almost swallowed by urban sprawl. It left me wondering: why not preserve the land more intentionally to honor the culture being celebrated?
Crowd management was another issue. The sheer number of people admitted at once diluted the intimacy and serenity that the experience could offer. It was hard to feel transported when constantly navigating around other visitors.
Driving in, I even questioned whether we were lost—the setting didn’t evoke the sense of wonder I expected. While the show itself is beautiful and well-crafted, the location and logistics detract from its potential to be...

Info: There are 7 'zones' in Ohnwa' Lumina. A zone (in Ohnwa' Lumina) is a landmark / place where you can see different light shows. Each zone is 3 - 4 walking minutes apart from each other. The trail is approximately 1 - 1.5 kms long. There is only 1 trail and there are lights illumating the trail to see where you're walking (obviously). You usually wait around 20 to 30 minutes to access the forest. You should buy ticket 2 days before you come here, if you buy too late, the place will be full. The tickets are around 10$ per kid and 25$ per adult.
Opinion, review: My favorite zone of them all is the light stars trail, absolutely amazing with calming music, it gave me vibes of the Waitomo Caves, in New Zealand. My least favorite one is hard to tell, they are all fascinating... but I must say its the third (3rd) zone. It's an open-wall cabin with animal statues, smoke and white lights covering the forest around you. It's just a relaxing place for people that are already tired of walking a couple hundred meters.
Well, I hope I helped people to know better this place. I highly recommend you to come here,...
