The tour was worth , the spinning chairs in the room with the glasses was very nice idea , probably the best thing about it , a bit more time there would have earned them an extra star and for the kids the electric globe , a few more of them with few more minutes would have made it more interesting when you have a bunch of kids in the tour . The biggest issue of it,is that all the presentation was made only in French ( although they told us that in advance) , for a touristic site is ridiculous not to offer in English as well , when everywhere in the world , any touristic place offers at the very least presentations in the respective native tongue and English , here in a dual official languages country , near the border with US , does not offer it , sounds political , at the cost of...

Beauitful observatory at the peak of Mount Magnetic. The view from there was absolutely breathtaking. A guided tour was included in the tickets with our visit at the AstroLab at the bottom of the mount. The tour lasted for around 45 minutes. We were able to learn about it's history and management, while still seeing the impressive telescope and all the exploits researchers have discovered with it. The guide was friendly and knew a lot about the observatory which made it a lot more enjoyable. A minor problem we encountered was the language barrier once again, everything...

This place offers a SPECTACULAR view of the sunset. The observatory is closed for 2020 because of COVID.

A lil anecdote: I came to Mont-Megantic with some friends for camping in June 2020 and hiked up at 7pm to see the sunset and to have some supper. We were the only group there for the most part. Around 9pm, we were running out of water and still had a long hike down. Then, the nicest man who worked the overnight shift came up to the observatory and was chatting with us about nature fun facts and filled up our water bottles! That man really...

Absolutely breath taking views. You can drive right to the top or you can hike from the bottom. We went for the day and chose to hike it. If you're not in shape I suggest you drive. They're 3 levels of hikes you can do. Each one harder than the next. Entry is not free. At the base of the hill you pay entry at the visitor center. Once at the top you can see as far as the eye can see. Night time reservations for star gazing are a must. Reserve months in advance or you'll be disappointed at how quickly it fills up.

Megantic is a great place to trek and view the panoramic while taking your car on the top. However, you Will need to register for either of them online form Sepaq website, before visiting. The star gazing at night is a whole different category in registration. We did not knew about the registration and went directly to the point and we were not allowed to enter after sunset. So make sure to register your visit online well in advance. Booking time for the observatory is almost more then 2 week advance.
