Join @ferlattez on an adventure through one of the most beautiful parks in Quebec!❄️ Mont-Mégantic National Park is located in the Eastern Townships and is approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Quebec City, and a 2.5 hour drive from Montreal. It was created in 1994 and since then has offered breathtaking scenery for every season of the year. There are 2 main sectors with a beautiful variety of trails and different difficulty levels: - The Observatory Sector: 20 km of trails for the more experienced snowshoers with a lot of elevation gain. - Franceville Sector: 20 km of trails where you can see the mountain-stream valley and soaring peaks from a different angle. Produced in association with CBC Creator Network. #quebec #quebectrails #quebectravellers #montmegantic

Easter weekend at this place means you are still with one foot in the winter season of icy paths and one foot in the spring wet marshlands.

This did however have no negative impact on our experience renting the Jupiter cottage, equipped with ice spikes for $8 (kids get everything for free if an adult pays rental) and a map. The lady at the reception said the path may be too dangerous with icy conditions and it just made it more exciting!

The view was awesome from Franceville and we didn’t regret making it all the way to the top. Rain would have made it difficult to walk on icy snow so you absolutely need to rent ice spikes.

Biking was not an option since the bike path was still under one foot of snow. We spent the evening making fire outside the cottage and honestly the $200 all inclusive deal for one night was just perfect. You will be surprised what a great ambiance this place is no matter the weather. No wifi at the cottage nor Rogers cell phone connection was exactly what we needed to bond with the wilderness.

The store has some basic food and you really want to make sure to do some shopping before leaving the Highway 10 since the closest town with a food store (IGA) is half an hour away.

Perks: you really get to connect with nature with almost no tourists around you! We fell asleep at 9pm and no sound whatsoever until 8 am.

Improvements: Sepaq should share real time photos of the area when booking a cottage since some people would have found the icy hiking path too dangerous and been stuck in a cottage with nothing much to do. Unless you bring a book or board games to just relax it’s a long drive from Montreal to be bing watching Netflix on a tablet!

Recommendation: you may want to explore this area in the fall time to see the colours from the hike path and be able to do two hikes (7km on arrival and 11km on the next morning) before going home to Montreal...

Had booked camping for 2 nights in the Neptune cabin. Check-in time is 5pm and check-out is 12 pm. We reached around 6pm and was pitch dark. Had no difficulty getting to our cabin as we already received an email mentioning not to follow the GPS route and were given clear instructions. Got to the cabin and was really impressed with the design and how efficiently the space was utilized to plan a kitchen cum dining, bedroom and a bath. The place including the bathroom was spotlessly clean when we walked in. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials utensils and equipment along with enough cleaning supplies. The cabin also had some wood for lighting with fire starter and matchboxes. There is provision for an indoor fireplace as well as outdoor. We hoped to have a clear sky and enjoy some star gazing, however, it was cloudy and snowing throughout our stay. There are pamphlets kept off the hiking trails (French only was there). However, at the information center, there was a very helpful person who guided us on various paths. We did a small hike and totally enjoyed our trails. It was a lovely cozy time in the cabin and we felt...
