Stay away from this hotel. You’ll experience terrible customer service if you are not a francophone. Do not trust even 1% of what the owners have written as response to my review. These people are so used to lying to the customers that they cannot keep away from writing false information even in the response to my review. The hotel is used to unethical custom of overbooking their rooms. I booked an AC room, but they quietly put me in a nonAC room. When challenged, they blatantly lied by telling me that none of their rooms has AC. When I called hotels.com (travel agency), they confirmed to me that the hotel has given the room I booked to someone else. When I asked for compensation because they have not provided me the room I paid for, reception girl told me that because I am not being nice, I should leave, and they’ll refund me the money I paid. They call this a place of worship, but the hotel is run on unethical business principles. If you stand up for your consumer rights, they will brand you as a not nice person and will ask you to leave. Hotels.com mentioned to me that they will most likely remove this hotel from their list of hotels. Because this hotel is so used to the unethical practice of overbooking, I urge people to verify that they get the room they paid for. If guests are offered a room inferior than what they have booked, they should ask for compensation without any compromise what so ever. As a response to my review, below the owner are saying below that they have provided me the same room that I have booked on hotels.com. How is this even close to being true when I have booked an Air Conditioned room, and they have provided me a room with a small fan in it only. And if they are so honest, why did hotels.com tell me that most likely they will be removed from their listing because they are into the business of overbooking. Blatant lies one after another! The only thing positive is the neighbourhood. The location is...
Read moreL'Ermitage Saint-Antoine is a Catholic Church retreat. It provides accommodation in dormitories and small rooms, as well as camping area. The centre has a dining room, serving breakfast, lunch and evening supper. There is also a gift shop, church, and monastic centre. All facilities are available to all visitors.||||The campground is in three areas, one a small sheltered area with space for about 10 units, each site having 3 services; sites are fairly level. The second area is more open and is an extension of the parking area, with sites being part tarmac and part grass, with some sites sloping, each one has water and electricity. The third area is a field setting, with some electricity points and water taps. There is also a sewer dump point. All sites are of a good size for larger units.||||Showers and washrooms are fairly basic, with only one shower in each section, mens and womens, with free hot water, when they work. They are located away from the campground areas.||||The grounds of the centre are extensive, and there are numerous walks, some signposted through woodland and by the lake. There are many features of religious significance around the grounds.||||The reception is for the whole centre and its facilities, and can therefore be busy when there are a lot of visitors. The meals in the dining room are typical hostel cafeteria standard, nothing exciting, but there is a choice. The reception has one computer for free internet access.||||All staff were helpful...
Read moreWow....I was not sure about this place as we are not religious but we are so happy we stayed here. There is a wonderful history and there is no religious push whatsoever. As a retreat it would be perfect as there are plenty of activities and yet there is a peacefulness here.||Despite not speaking French, we were warmly welcomed and together we muddled through our reservation. Our room was basic but provided everything necessary and it was meticulously cleaned. For TV watchers, please note that there is no television but the room has free wifi and ports built into the bedside lamps as well as the desk provided. There is a refrigerator in the room as well. The bed was very comfortable and we were also able to open the windows. This was an excellent stay despite not seeing the grounds as much as we would have liked due to the weather. The history of this place alone, was...
