The Lac des Cygnes is at the third kilometer, and the view is so fantastic that the hard work to get there is well worth it. Of course, the view from the top is just as spectacular, as well as satisfying to see after a difficult climb. Directions to the top and downwards are available at each turn and there are markers at every 0.5km to show you how much you've progressed. Read moreMist in the morning made us nervous we wouldn’t see much at the summit, but go for it anyway. If you go on a misty day, it moves in and out quickly. At the summit we waited 30ish minutes and were rewarded with stunning views of the Charlevoix region.
We did the Cygnes/Pioui loop. Ascended Cygnes and descended Pioui (against the recommended direction) and found the descent down Pioui tough on our ankles because of the rocks and boulders. Would definitely recommend going up Pioui and coming down Cygnes for the most...
