Wow! Was I ever impressed with this Conservation Area. First. The staff are so friendly and welcoming! A $4.25 fee was required to enter the Conservation. Second. There was lots of parking available! Third. I couldn't believe how well kept and clean the grounds were. There are lots of picnic tables scattered throughout the area which can tempt people to be lazy and litter, but I was pleased to not see any garbage or abuse of the facilities. Fourth. There are very clean bathrooms to use, should nature call you to more than just the falls! Fifth. The falls! Just beautiful and I love how you can walk right up to them. The rocks around the falls can be very slippery when wet so please wear appropriate footwear. I was very comfortable in my waterproof hiking boots. Sixth. I love that you can bring your dogs here and let them enjoy the beauty and nature too. Seventh. There are trails to explore around the falls. I encourage you to take them and enjoy more than just the falls themselves. There are more than a few stairs to climb, but who doesn't enjoy a wee little workout!? Overall, I recommend you visit Rock Glen Falls yesterday! What an amazing little bit of...
Read more(Go After a Heavy Rain) The most beautiful thing I’ve seen in all my life, I’ve been to Niagara Falls several times but that doesn’t compare to this waterfall it’s more personal you can walk behind it you can swim at the bottom. Niagara Falls is just a cluster of tourists, My wife and I sat at the waterfall base for five hours before we left, there was no one there and it had a very good rain the day before, so we were treated to beautiful sites. My wife and I climbed over the fence because we thought it was closed for the season but later on a very nice man named Mike whose job it is to protect that area for dangerous reasons, he explained that it wasn’t due to the seasonal conditions he just needs to be there to open it up so that if anything happens he’s there to help and when he leaves the gate gets closed but you can still watch from the balcony. Thanks again Mike for explaining how things work there we had a great time and will be back DON’T FORGET IT’S $4.50 per person not vehicle, and if you forget you are going to have to drive 17 km back to the nearest...
Read moreAs we were following Google maps for directions, we were wondering how could there be a waterfall in the middle of the farm fields.
We drove into the Rock Glen Camping site, not knowing the park was 20 feet ahead to the right.
It costs $4/ person to enter the park, not a big cost but not much of a park either.
It was a very dry month so there wasn’t much of a waterfall to see, check out the photos to see for your self.
It’s interesting to see a deep gorge in the middle of no where!
We walked the trail around the park and took some stairs 100+ steps down. A little stream was trickling through the rocks near the bottom.
There were supposed to be some fossils at the bottom, but if you aren’t prepared to deal with the mosquitoes then it’s going to be a challenge.
We didn’t have the patience to fight them off and look through the rocks.
I can check this off our bucket list as a place that we have gone to see. I wouldn’t to out of my way, but if you are in the area, stop by…a place I would only need...
