The owners at Port Franks Getaway Cottage (where we stayed) recommended us to check out this Twin Pines Orchards and it didn't disappoint.
The Orchards is such a big outdoor space. It has its own little walking trails that you can see a bridge, trees, a river and it's a nice stroll. Then, there is a nice hill slope overlooking the windmills near by, the orchards in the area and apples around the orchards.
Once we went inside, it's such a beautiful wooden building with 2 floors. I highly recommend you walk up to the 2nd floors as it has many arts and crafts and great products if you are looking to buy gifts over the holidays.
And last but not least, my favourite part, the cider tasting area. It has a nice little room where the friendly staff will let you taste some of its fresh and seasonal cider with alcohol in them. The tasting experience was helpful as I got to taste a variety of them and identify which cider that I like. We then made some purchase and bring them home. The bottle of cider was very reasonably priced as well, ranging around $10 each. Although the bottle was very nice, I found the lid super difficult to open and close, to the point, it hurts our hand when we tried to open and close, would prefer the lid easier to operate, otherwise, what an incredible experience here at the Twin Pines Orchards.

Read moreBrought my family from Alberta to see the winery and do tastings. When we got there the lady in the store said "sorry no tastings today. " I did not see anywhere on the Facebook page that only certain times the tastings were offered. We were disappointed but made some purchases and nosed around in the store. Suddenly a bus pulled up with a large tour group and they were allowed in for tastings. I went back inside and asked the lady why we couldn't have done the tastings , we were a small group of 8 , but her reply was" oh well, I just work here...." The owners need to hire people who are more customer savvy, and have better customer service. It would not have taken much trouble to at least call the boss and ask. Even if he said we could not be accommodated, at least make an effort! I will not return and we are telling everyone we know that Twin Pines is a big disappointment and turning into...
Read moreDefinitely worth a visit. I've been many times and have yet to be disappointed. Though the two level store is relatively small, someone has put a great deal of time and effort into the available product selection. You can't leave this place without a homemade fruit pie (or three), they are delicious. Three of us (including grandma Norma) did a tasting (which is free) of the various quality ciders and wines, and because there were three of us doing the tasting we managed to cover the complete selection of products. The member of staff looking after us was OUTSTANDING, engaging, polite, and very knowledgeable of the products we tried. For those looking to linger, there is a large covered patio at the rear, as well as seating next to the stream, and walks through the orchard. We left with four bottles of cider, two fruit pies, some apple butter, and a somewhat "happy" grandma Norma. Give this...
