Delightful Little Wilderness Jewel in Lanark Highlands My family and had come here more than once in the past 6 years mostly in the Fall. The pathways are well kept and the post signs are interesting enough (mostly to learn about their local famous orchids for which these flowers only grow during the Spring). I highly recommend this place especially in late Fall where there is almost no one around. Still would like to see the place in the Spring with all...

One of the valley's best kept secrets. The orchids are in bloom from Father's day till the middle of July. The area includes a couple of picnic tables and a portalet. There's a boardwalk eventually leading to an observational gazebo overlooking Purdon lake. There are two parking lots, one scenic that leads to the gazebo and the primary one at the trailhead. There a trail around the lake that is a bit wild ie no boardwalk but...

Not enough stars to adequately rate this gem in our area. Finally saw the orchids this year after many years of wanting to see them. Happy to have gotten 2 visits in for this season-amazingly diverse areas in one spot. Happened to be there early when the mosses and pitcher plants were in bloom as well as the orchids. Easy walking trails,...

Serene and beautiful, the best time to visit is roughly June 12-20. This is when the Showy Lady Slipper orchids are reaching full bloom. The boardwalk is accessible and family-friendly, with numerous spots to sit and take it all in. More adventurous trails are available for those wishing to do so, but you can walk the boardwalk easily without trouble.

Small, but cute! We came at the very end of June, so there weren’t as many Lady’s Slipper Orchids blooming as there might have been a few weeks ago. Still a fun little walk and loved the informational signs about the wildlife along the boardwalk. Next time, I’d love to do the longer hike, but it was a little too wet the day I went!
