Its a hike n' a half to get here if you are coming from the city, so you'll probaby have to make a day outta it. The drive there is a scenic one and the area is stunning in the fall season. The Wheelers location itself is also beautiful and they offer sleigh rides throughout their maple trails although i forget when exactly. The Pancake house takes on the appearance of a large log cabin and is an attractive structure inside and out along with their Guinness World Record winning museum and other displays. The place is a staple of real, proud Canadian culture that represents both the early settlers and the natives. The dinning area inside is decorated with vintage tools, a small fireplace, and large windows making it quite the cozy atmosphere. The food is all made in house and it really shows. Everything is delicious, you won't taste food like their's anywhere else in Eastern Ontario. Their menu selection is rather limited but that really doesn't matter. You came here to get delicious pancakes and have a fun time with your family or friends and thats exactly what you're gonna get. I wouldn't change it for the world. Wheelers Pancake house is a truly unique experience you shouldn't pass up. If this place were to close or fall off the map it would be a national catastrophe. I've been coming here at least once a year ever since i was a kid and i will continue to do so until i can no longer. I really love this place and you will too. Oh, and don't forget to put a couple bucks in the donation box in the museum you...

First off, I had to push back the time of my reservation and they accommodated my request without any issue.
Secondly, the service was quick and the food was AMAZING. The pancakes are so delightful but if you aren't a pancake fan then they have french toast! Their sausages are made in house and have their legendary maple syrup in them, and they're so delicious as well. The menu is a bit limited so if that is turning you away then remember this: these guys do what they do and they do it perfectly. Everyone in my group was raving about how that was the best pancake, french toast and sausage they've ever had.
My last point; their hospitality is AMAZING. Upon leaving, our car accidentally off-roaded and we were stranded in the ditch just at the end of the driveway and the staff allowed us to wait in the lodge while we waited for CAA. Since we had no services, they let us use their phone and even provided us with complimentary cups of coffee to ease our nerves. When the tow truck arrived, only one of us could go ride with the driver to get the car out, and the OWNER, Mr Wheeler himself drove the other two people in my party down to where the tow truck driver was getting us out of the ditch.
Overall, impeccable hospitality & service, friendly staff and AMAZING FOOD. We went home with full bellies and hearts filled with gratitude thanks to their kindness. 1000/10,...
Read moreGreat experience. Nice service. Fluffy pancakes, tasty French toast & some of the best sausages ever.
No admission here to visit. We had a reservation for dining but probably didn’t need one in the middle of summer ;)
Most of us had the “Canadian” meal - which was 1 pancake & 1 French toast with 3 sausages. Everything was absolutely delicious and they bring you a WHOLE bottle of maple syrup - not some little plastic cup like most of the maple farms.
I usually HATE breakfast sausages but I loved these. I ate all three.
Kids went on the swings, slide & zipline after which they never wanted to leave. They spied some animals from the zip line and quickly ran over to find some cute sheep & alpacas.
One of our party members was to meet us there, and they got lost on the way. There is no cell service at Wheeler’s - so if you DON’T know where you are going I would recommend downloading an offline map before leaving...
