We went the strawberry picking weekday a bit before lunch time.
It was very hot day and it was our very first time picking strawberry. I paid $28.00 dollars to get 2boxs ($14.00 per box) We walked a bit to get the strawberry farm like 15 mins. On the way there were raspberry and blue berry trees nicely glowing up. Probably when it time comes could do picking? It was a nice nature walking for me but my boys were already complaining that hot and far lol
When we got the strawberries, there was a worker waiting to tell us where we can pick those strawberries. There were a lot of tiny red strawberries and it was very tasty.
My boys were done in 15 mins because it was very very hot. They even did not fill up one box so I did 2 boxes to filled up and it took me probably 30mins then my back was hurting so we finished with 70% of boxes to fill up but I saw some people fill up with 120%... lol It's good to bring water and hat.
After worked hard, it was very nice to have cold drink and ice cream. The shop in the park showed that it house made.
The park, it had chickens in their park and cute design. It was very kids friendly place.
By the way, I picked very red strawberries but next day, the very red ones became not good looking right away... so I changed most of them to jam and sauce next day. Probably a bit before become red ones are good to...
Read moreWe went strawberry picking and unfortunately it was a sunny 27 degrees. That's not bad in itself but we had 2 elderly members in the group and the walk up to the fields in the sun was hard with no places to sit next to the field (ppl were crouching on fallen branches by the path) exacerbated the situation.
Also by then the morning ppl had plucked all the nice strawberries and we were left looking to find something to fill our 3 paniers for 48 dollars (we were told we had to get them as it was based on no. of ppl in the group even though 3 ppl out of 5 were not going to be able to hunch down and pluck anything). So filling them was almost a punishment as it was really hard to find any salvageable strawberries in what was left behind with the sun beating down on us.
Arghhh never ever again.
My last experience was at a place where the berries were planted in raised wooden boxes that meant that the berries didn't spoil by coming contact with the soil and also were much easier to collect. So in comparison this was not fun at all.
If they could perhaps put some chairs and sell water bottles next to the fields it would...
Read moreWe visited this beautiful farm recently for strawberry picking. The walk from the parking lot to the strawberry fields was quite long, taking us through rows of blueberry shrubs, cornfields, and a pumpkin garden. While the walk was pleasant and relaxing, it was quite dusty, so be prepared for that.
The strawberry fields were bountiful, with various varieties planted. Some of the ripe strawberries were incredibly sweet, while others had a slight tang. We chose the $20 basket and filled it to the brim. The experience was delightful.
After picking strawberries, we indulged in some of their sweet treats. The strawberry sorbet was lovely. We also enjoyed their craft beer and fruit jams, which we bought from the shops. The farm even had a charming petting zoo.
Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for both kids and adults to enjoy a...
