What can I say about the tip? This is a place where you go to watch the migration of birds across the Lake Erie. If you don't have a pair of binoculars you may feel like a fish out of water, so try to get your hands on a pair before you head out. While birders may seem like in an elitist group, it does not matter what level of bird knowledge you have from beginners to expert, there's always friendly people who are willing to impart their knowledge in their identification skills to those who need it. It may be intimidating but I highly suggest you just ask somebody what's happening or for some information and they will more than likely chat your ear off for longer than you were expecting. It is very cold, so even if it is a nice day at The Visitor Center, please make sure to bring mittens a hat a sweater and a jacket depending on the season. It was the end of September and I was cold in a full-on winter jacket, to put it in perspective. There is a washroom facility, so you don't have to worry about that, and then walk back to the visitor center is quite enjoyable as well. You get dropped off by a tram and you can either take the tram back or, when I suggest, take a very nice hike on one of the many well...

Very scenic spot. You need to take the bus shuttle train to get there. The seating is limited, so if you are with a bigger group, be prepared to wait. You could also walk down there. The spot itself is very beautiful. Looks like a classic white sand beach and reminds me of pictures of Mauritius. It's not a swimming beach as the currents are quite fast - so leave your swim gear in the car. Now the issues - only a few thousands. The black flies!! Oh man, i cannot start to explain the experience. It's probably not there in every season. We went in late September. Make sure you wear pants. These flies will swarm all over and bite the @$#!& outta you. Even taking a photo where you need to be still for 5sec was difficult. Be warned! This was my first encounter with black flies- and i'm not likely to forget it anytime soon.
