Update: we were here today (Feb, 2022) again. It's not free any more! $25 for a family of 4 with young kids for hiking (more expensive for other activities). Only cash or debit accepted. Too expensive! Even more expensive than national parks and most regional parks. 10 or 15 minutes after we parked, there was a sudden snow squall and the visibility dropped to 5 meters. We couldn't do anything and had to go. We asked for a refund, and were of course denied because "it is our policy". The two guys at the entrance sent me to their boss, who was somewhere else, who wanted to send me to her boss and gave me her business card. I'm sure it will be wasted time and effort.
By the way, I spoke with the two guys at the entrance in English, so they thought I didn't understand French. It was a good thing that I made them call "their boss" in front of me, as they spoke French and was totally making up stories to their boss. I corrected him in French, which was a warning to them that I do speak French.
When we entered, we asked the two guys at the entrance when they started to charge people, and they told us "a month ago". When I complained to their boss, she said "we started to charge long time ago, not just one month". I was here last summer, and it was free then. Who is lying? So sad what $25 can make people do. At least somebody is lying for $25.
For $25, we are able to experience the worst client service, as we are told "sorry, there's nothing we can do. We can't control the weather". $25 can turn a person as cold as a sheet of paper which says "no refund".
To my surprise, when I took a closer look, the business card they gave me is for somebody from the city of St. Lazard. This is how the City is making money! Sad and cold.
I decreased my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. I would give them zero if available. Such a pity that they turned this beautiful place into a cold money machine.
My review from 1 year ago: There are plenty of trails, easy for kids. There are also different typea of trees, so you can easily see the difference. There are some some games for kids, which was a nice surprise to us. The only downside I would say, is the trails are shared with horses, and there is horse poop all...
Read moreI recently visited Parc nature les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare and had a fantastic time. It's a beautiful place to connect with nature and enjoy some outdoor activities. The park is set in a lush forest with trails perfect for walking, biking, and even cross-country skiing in the winter. What impressed me most was how well-maintained everything is. The trails are clean and clearly marked, and the lake is pristine. The staff were friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend Parc nature les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature. It's a great place to spend the day with family or friends. Here's why I loved it: Beautiful forest setting Well-maintained trails Friendly and helpful staff Things to keep in mind: The park is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. Admission is free. ( West Island neighborhood) There are restrooms and drinking water available. You'll find picnic areas throughout the park. I hope this review helps you decide whether to visit!

Read moreThis place is nice and offers a variety of things to enjoy including a playground, a low ropes/bridges course in the trees and an outdoor pool! When we went, it wasn't busy, so we enjoyed that. They have picnic tables provided to sit or eat at and access to a bathroom at the pool area as well. The kids had a great time swimming, and they provide some extra shade at the pool as well, which was appreciated on that sunny day. The only thing I would change is that only my big children could go down the water slide, and there wasn't a little one for my 3 & 2 yr old to do. They badly wanted to go down it, but they'd have to do so alone, as the water is too deep for me to "catch" them at the bottom, and it's roped off so no one is allowed in the landing zone anyways. A small little slide at the shallow end would have been enjoyable...
